Copenhagen Bakery + Cafe made its debut in the small Long Island town of Northport in 1998. The only Scandinavian bakery on Long Island is owner operated by Flemming Hansen. At the age of 16 in Ørbæk, Denmark, Flemming began his career as an apprentice at a local bakery. In 1985, after three years as an apprentice, he was offered an opportunity to work as an exchange student in Danish owned Olsens Bakery located in Solvang, California. Solvang, a Scandinavian themed-town was founded by Danish immigrants in Santa Barbara County, California. This cozy waterfront bakery with outdoor dining. In 2023, we celebrate 25 years in business in Northport, NY!

A magnificent venue with a large variety of pastries & breads.
Super busy here on July 4th, I stopped here at mile 50 to refuel. 5 people ahead of me but the line moved surprisingly quick. By the time I ordered, 10 others were behind me.
The iced coffee is self serve with a cup of ice, $1 refills.I asked for a high carb pastry and the pretty gal recommended the cinnamon roll. It was fabulous, bite after bite, I couldn’t stop.
Plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the water. Everyone is polite and the vibes are chill.
Overall experience:
Great pastries at reasonable prices
Fresh breads
Fast & friendly service
Wonderful venue
Sandwiches & burgers are priced higher

The quality of Copenhagen Bakery’s offering are superb. I drive out of my way to go there if I need something special to take to someone’s house, because anything from Copenhagen is special. I also go there for their breads, all of which are delicious. It’s worth the ride to visit Copenhagen Bakery. Next time, I will go for breakfast. Everything I saw on every table I passed looked amazing! I haven’t looked at their menu to comment on their offerings, i.e. vegetarian, etc. But I’m sure they have a wonderful menu.

Small place but great location with tasty food. Portion size is big and you tummy will be so full. Great customer service and very friendly environment. The lady who took my order accidentally place it wrong. So she gave her apology with some delicious chocolate chip cookies. How nice she is.

I am coming to this place since 9 years. Place is so good and busy, but past 2-3 times I had a few bad experiences. But this time, me and my friend came for lunch and we ordered egg roll toasted with butter and that was not toasted.
I ordered scrambled eggs platter with toasted well done sourdough bread and bread was not toasted. Then my friend ordered scrambled eggs platter with peppers and onions in that and sourdough bread toasted well done and first time when order came peppers and onions were out of the eggs, so we sent it back. Then again order came and there was an hair on the bread and third time again bread and eggs were not well done. It was 1 hour and 20 minutes by then. We called manager and they said he is on vacation and owner was left. I don’t want my money back but this is not good. Spoiled our time. Left food on the table and left.

Drove all the way here because I’ve heard great things. Maybe it was an off night but honestly, I couldn’t believe how terrible of an experience it was for starters Total came to $19 and some change. I gave her a $50 bill and she gave me back a handful of coins. I had to keep telling her I gave her a $50 bill and after going back-and-forth I finally got my correct change. I Ordered two chai lattes, and some desserts. What I received was 2 cups of steamed milk. Thank God, I didn’t drive all the way home and tasted it in the restaurant. When I brought it back to the counter A different girl said there was never any chai powder in the machine. Well, that’s great. Finally, we got our correct drinks, sat down and ate our desserts. I received an apple cinnamon donut that was stale, bland, and hard as a rock. My wife Ordered a small fruit tart, and what she received was literally the size of a postage stamp with a wilted strawberry on top. Lastly, the place was absolutely filthy. There was garbage under all of the tables and the garbage bins were overflowing. I don’t understand it as there were a ton of people behind the counter and not many customers out front. All in all, I have to say, we were quite disappointed

We wanted to create a beautiful dessert spread for our rehearsal dinner and Copenhagen bakery did an amazing job. They worked with me to create a beautiful custom order, with petit fours, a special cake, and beautiful macarons. Marie was wonderful to work with – so accommodating and friendly. We’ll definitely be working with them again on special orders in the future.

First time visiting this establishment. Beautiful bakery, friendly staff, but quality of the product we bought was highly disappointing. Two cup cakes, 3 cannolis, and a chocolate loaf cake. Looked great, but All tasted awful. Sadly, I made the biggest mistake of having a slice of the chocolate loaf, and that was vile. Made me throw up.

The coffee was good not great which was very disappointing after having had the best cup of coffee of my life in the city of Copenhagen is what brought me here. The baked goods were down right disappointing. I will not be returning here but do hope to return to the city itself again in the future.
