We had a great experience at Malone’s. First, the place is very well decorated, with a tall wall of distilled drinks that you see as soon as you walk in. There are two levels with tables and even an escalator to take you up to the second floor. Service was very good and fast. We had different food items, such as the Neptune Valentine’s day special, which comes with a 9 oz filet mignon, shrimp, and scallops. We also had sushi and a spinach & artichoke dip for starter.

We frequently dine at Malone’s. We love the food, atmosphere and staff is so friendly. Highly recommend. They do have a lunch menu and you can’t go wrong with any of the very well prepared dishes. I had the battered fish with the Mexican corn. My wife had the blue crab linguine. It was all so good.

At first glance, the restaurant is a cutely packed place w a nice fancy atmosphere. My boyfriend and I were excited to go out to this place since it was our first time here together! We received bread and quickly ordered our food w almost little to no wait time. The food was fantastic and the mashed potatoes on the bluegrass chicken was delightful! the Melinase was a basil linguini only served especially during Valentines. Our only main complaint was the service. We noticed it was quite busy and many tables were almost completely full. However, our server TJ made almost little to no effort to serve us. During the meal we noticed his absence quite a lot despite being at other tables near us and making great conversations w them. It seemed he almost felt annoyed w us since we were only a couple, but we could overhear his laughter and conversation w other guests. We would like to give our appreciation to the server assistants refilling our drinks and taking away dishes we no longer needed. We will say our main server had only appeared to ask about our meal and then again for the final check. Once we received the check, he seemed happy to see us leave and didn’t say much else. So unfortunately we had to give a tip we thought was deserved for the service we received.

Excellent service. Our server Miguel was attentive but not over our shoulder. Ordered the blue crab & linguini which was DELICIOUS. Ended dinner with the donut bread pudding which i highly recommend. Had to send back the asparagus because it was mushy. Overall, it was a great experience!

This was our second family birthday reservation at Malone’s this year and it sealed the deal that this restaurant cannot be relied upon for special occasions.

In August for my mother’s birthday, we had to wait 40 minutes for our table (with a reservation) and had mediocre service and was served bread that was icy in the middle. It happened to be on “National Steak Day” so they were busy and we gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a bad day to have a reservation.

This Sunday, for my dad’s birthday, we had to wait 10 minutes after our reservation to be seated and were seated in the bar with crumbs on chairs and water on plates. Several parties of 2, 4, and 6 showed up after us and were seated immediately on the restaurant side, but not us. (Mind you, we picked Sunday to avoid picking Friday/Saturday night when people would be dining for Valentine’s.) The A/C was blowing and our whole party had to wear winter coats though it was in the 50s outside. I would understand if it was in the 20s. It wasn’t the nice start we expected.

We waited about 10 more minutes until a server came to take our drink orders. He was fine, but didn’t really offer the level of service we used to expect at a steakhouse type restaurant. An assistant, who didn’t greet us, sat down waters and bread, but just waited for us to move our menus on the small table to make room for the bread. Literally no words spoken, just stood at us and stared waiting for us to get a hint that our small table was too small for bread with menus on the table.

I noticed we got the plastic cup of butter instead of metal you get on the restaurant side. The bread wasn’t frozen at least, so I’ll give them that. Due to the lack of ambience and feeling so casual, my mom and I settled on sharing bar food since we were in the bar. It didn’t warrant ordering appetizer, steaks, etc as we had planned. It no longer felt special and we were resigned to just suffer through it.

My husband and dad each ordered a salad with different dressings. In the past the servers have brought two salads tossed and welcomed sharing. Not this time. Plastic side cups of dressing and one salad that really wasn’t enough for both of them to share, when they ordered salads separately.

My mom and I didn’t receive the same treatment we would have gotten in the Harry’s Patio side of the restaurant. Pre-split entree with separate fries/condiments/etc. Instead we had to share it between us with an extra plate. It felt like the bare minimum.

We wouldn’t have minded this experience as much without a reservation in Harry’s, but having consistently having a better experience there, I recommend just going to Harry’s upstairs or downstairs. No reservation needed or failed expectations. The restaurant side seems like a myth of the past.

Even with two of us sharing a meal, we spent $150+ on 3 entrees, 3 beverages, and 2 salads before tip. The value was not there.

One if my favorite Louisville restaurants. Where else can you get sushi, a perfectly cooked steak and shot of rare bourbon? Very old school posh with impeccable service. Wish I could talk about different dishes here but I always order the same thing-Chicago roll and Carpaccio. Used to get French Onion soup that was the best I’ve ever had but they had the nerve to take it off the menu. Please bring it back! Next time you’re in Louisville give it a try, I promise you won’t be disappointed (except the French Onion soup thing)!

The food is good, no doubt. I have had many a good steak from them. The cocktails are just above average but their Smoked Old Fashioned is solid. Here’s where I had an issue. For an upper scale restaurant I expect the bathrooms to be managed. The soap dispensers should work and paper towels shouldn’t be barely unwrapped from their packaging and just lying on the sink. Hopefully they tighten up and make then entire experience at the establishment spot on.

My girlfriend and I had the twin fillets and we also shared the blue crab linguine! If you come here and you do not try the blue crab linguine then you will surely miss out. The lexingtonian salad they offer is one of the best beautiful atmosphere it’s quiet it’s quaint it’s elegant! I highly highly recommended

Elizabeth was a server here at Malone’s rooftop bar. Walking up to this place, it was very nice and very well put together. As soon as I walked in, there was a wall of whiskey and bourbon options at the bar. The food was exceptional and well presented. I had the short ribs with potatoes. And then I had a few different desserts because I just couldn’t decide. The crème brûlée had the perfect crust to it with a bourbon flavor, and the cookie was a giant chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on it. I definitely indulged more than what I needed to, but I would definitely go back here. The service and food were exceptional and definitely a 10 out of 10.
