Absolutely loved the crap cakes and wedge salad. Oysters were good, just small. It was very noisy to the point I couldn’t talk to the person sitting next to me without raising my voice. Very casual place.

The staff was nice enough. Extremely disappointed with the food and the value. I ordered the fried oyster sandwich “po boy” with bay fries. It was $18 after tax, market price. Market price typically means they are getting the seafood fresh. I watched them pull a retail brand bucket of oysters from the refrigerator. I got 6 tiny oysters on a tiny dinner roll. See picture. The cook who put them in the fryer forgot about them while he was working on another order. After about 5 minutes of frying, another guy ran over and pulled them out of the oil. He then took some old fries sitting at room temp in a bowl and reheated them in the fryer for my order. I’m sorry, is this a full service restaurant or fast food? As you can see in the pictures, the oysters were overcooked and the sandwich is tiny, like a Hawaiian roll size. Not anywhere near worth $18.

I went at a slower time, before the rush, and was able to get a small table inside to look out at the water. Really cool small establishment with big vibes! It got very busy as I was leaving, with a line waiting, so you know it’s good and has a good following.
I ordered a seafood platter scallops, shrimp, and crab and wasn’t disappointed- seafood was cooked amazingly! And I rounded the meal off with a key lime pie – it was so fluffy and could easily feed 2! Didn’t disappoint

Was told these were the best wings on the strip and I could not argue against that!
Delicious wings, great atmosphere and very close to the beach.

This is definitely our absolute favorite breakfast place. We also dine for lunch and dinner — but we never miss the breakfast when we’re in town! The Orange Crush is ‘crushin it’! The pancakes are the BEST! The staff is always awesome and now familiar to us since we come frequently during the summer months! It’s a quaint place with some upgrades (windows, table & chairs, etc) but it always feels so welcoming … love it! We’ll see you in the spring Big Sam’s! Highly recommend!

Service was great. Shrimp Po Boy was really good as well as the chicken tenders and fries. The Chicken Fried Steak was frozen and didn’t have much taste. The mashed potatoes were cold. Always love coming here and will be back just a little disappointed with the CFS.

Friday 5-2-25 lunch 12:42 pm. Not busy.

1st visit here. Nothing fancy. The place inside was clean and the staff attentive. Your view is of the scum filled water around the jet ski rental dock facing Rudee inlet. The dumpsters and grease bin out front isn’t too attractive. The crab ball appetizer was mostly crab and very good. *Get the sauce on the side. I didn’t care for the taste and had tarter sauce instead. The clam strip basket with slaw and fries was good. The wife’s shrimp tacos and charro beans was very good. We would return for dinner if in the area again.

Billing for meal:
Half & half tea was $2.99.
Sweet tea was $3.25. Figure that one out????
Pay in cash and you save $3.5%. More restaurants are doing this so we always pay in cash now.

*Note this review was completed without using ridiculous un-discriptive terms like out-of-bounds, OMG, on point, awesome, the bomb, yummy, delish, to die for, do yourself a favor, trust me, flavorful, or kids emojis etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No disrespect to the employees, but no one cares about the waiter/waitress/clerk names, or if they look like they fell face first into a tackle box. They get changed like underwear and you don’t get to pick one. We don’t care about your allergies, vibes, how “chill” you feel, or the need for gluten free food.

Person who helped me was sweet. If you sit at the bar you’re literally a foot away from the cooks working their butts off and they can definitely a bit raunchy while they chat… so it’s almost as if you have a personal show while you wait/eat/drink. Cleanliness is questionable… but I guess frying it kills the germs, right? Was good and I’d prolly come back. The buffalo shrimp were good! Good beer list too.

It’s pretty obvious this place just serves whatever oysters they can get their hands on because the sizes and flavors were completely inconsistent. Some were large, some tiny, and they all tasted noticeably different. At least they seemed somewhat fresh, but they were served with barely any garnishes.

The real embarrassment, though, was the “clam chowder.” There was no dairy in it at all. When the bowl arrived it looked more like chicken noodle soup than anything resembling chowder. I even asked the waitress if it was actually clam chowder, and she simply said yes and walked away without another word.

Serving something like that and calling it chowder is honestly ridiculous. If you’re going to put it on the menu, at least make it correctly. Fix yourselves.

We ate at Sam’s on a Monday night, waited about 10 minutes for a table. The food was very good, cocktails as well, service was friendly but took a little while to get our food. The open kitchen was fun but the cooks were arguing and cussing with eachother so it kind of got old.
