Crowded on a Saturday night. Food was good. The marinara was thick and not over ladled on the pastas.
Our server Daniel was cool, they were just super full towards the end of the night so waiting for drinks took a while.
If you’re not coming here in a rush, and are looking for a nice laid back dining experience, check it out.
The wine list was good and reasonable as well.
Hidden gem in the corner of West Avenue and Blanco Rd., with plenty of parking lot (and no parking fees 😉 )
They have all the Italian classics you want, and the plates are very generous, tasty and flavorful.
I enjoyed the food service and attention.
I love the little Pizza slices they bring when you arrive, perfect to start your Italian experience.
And please do not forget to get the Tiramisu, it’s absolutely amazing!
Note: I personally did not enjoy the calamari, bite everything else was delicious.
The restaurant is true to its private locally owned roots and has maintained a very Italian and relaxed atmosphere inside. The service staff is very good, and attentive.
Some complimentary small pizza slices were offered as a sampling. These were very good.
We began with the stuff mushrooms. These were OK, but had a little too much liquid for my tastes. Our main entrées were the Chicken Alfredo, which had a choice of salad or soup. The salad was ordered and good. The other entrée was Chicken Parmesan, which also had a choice of salad or soup and choice of pasta. Soup order, and was minestrone. My pasta choice was Angel hair pasta with a butter garlic sauce vs. red sauce.
I ordered a Peroni beer for my beverage.
There were some large parties in the restaurant. I note this because our pasta and dishes came to us a little on the cool side. I did not make any remarks to the service staff, but in hindsight probably should’ve when I didn’t see the pasta or dishes steaming when they came to the table.
The staff did bring us a complimentary dessert for our special occasion. It was a slice of Tiramisu, which was unexpected and nice.
I have no doubt the food recipes are authentic Italian and probably family secrets. For me the red sauce on the chicken parmesan was missing something that I could not put my finger on what the ingredient(s) missing were. The cool pasta dishes and the taste are the reasons for not awarding a 5th star.
Overall, the food was OK, the service excellent and the atmosphere excellent, with a nice decor and some music playing in the background and not so loud that you couldn’t have a regular conversation.
I hope that if you visit, that you give the staff your feedback and your service experience is as good as mine or better.
A lot of people in the reviews really like the sample pizza put on the table but it tastes like school cafeteria pizza, but cooked in wood oven.
The restaurant is older. We arrived at 6pm and were able to get a table right away. The table was pushed against a wall and there were piles of cumbs against the wall, like no one pulls the tables out to clean or vacuum.
Service was friendly. They add an “adjustment fee” to credit card orders w/o explaining that it is the chargeback for using a credit card, which feels deceptive. Luckily a gentleman eating alone close to us made us aware when he asked the waitress. Her response was “oh the machine just puts that on automatically”. We figured that it must be a credit card fee, but there was not a noticeable warning on the menu or anything about this.
