A retro little place. They greeted you with a smile and we got seated immediately. Waitress was in a poodle skirt and took our drink order, then our meall order. Food came pretty quick. The salad was OK. Our meal was hot and average dinner food. The floors could have been cleaned.

I drive by this place every day, to and from work, so it seems silly to admit that I have NEVER been to Jimmie’s Diner before! This longtime Wichita icon was like a throwback to the 1950s, complete with tabletop juke boxes and poodle skirts worn by the waitresses. We kept it simple and ordered burgers for our meal, along with fried mushrooms as an appetizer. The food was great, and we, overall, had a wonderful experience!

We had a great time celebrating my grandsons birthday at Jimmie’s Diner! They were able to accommodate our party of ten with no problem. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and was also fun to be around. We did have a delay on one order but it was taken care of in a timely manner and we all loved our dinners. We will definitely return and recommend Jimmie’s Diner to others.

What a cute diner! It sure has its spin and vibe, what’s not to like when you step inside and are taken back to a different time!

The employees were super friendly and helpful. Bathrooms could use some work, floors were super sticky.

The food was good! I had the cheese and ham omelet they know how to make it, and filled it full of the goods! My sister ordered the breakfast platter with French toast, egg, and bacon she liked it!

Plenty of parking. Popular place! Would come back if i was visiting from out of town.

I have been coming to jimmies diner for just over a year regularly and over that time I have grown to love the place. Each time I come in I am sat as soon as possible and greeted. When I go out I appreciate a nice helpful chatty server and that I got. DOROTHY was her name and after the first time I knew I’d love her as a server. Dorothy had been there for years and knew the menu and place like the back of her hand. Never in my life had I had service as amazing as hers. I only chose to write reviews when an experience really moves me but she makes it worth it. We chatted through the meal and learned she is a college kid just working. This is all to show that she deserves to be shown appreciation and that she is top 3 most amazing waitress of all time. DOROTHY is the reason I will be coming back. Food was decent nothing to go crazy over just simple breakfast. Still has the hit of nostalgia. One complaint I will say is the booths were a bit dirty and what seems to be the manager was just standing around talking to the other female serves, just seems unprofessional out in the dining room. Overall great experience made by all the kitchen staff and especially Dorothy, sad to see her leave hopefully service can still provide the happy weekend experience without her there. Excited to meet new servers and keep eating the tasty food. Thank you jimmies and all the staff! Will be returning!

We heard this is a very long time restaurant in Wichita. We were just driving by and the outside appearance caught my eye. Turned out to be a good find. The decor is great, very much captures the old time diners of the 50′ & 60’s.
Very good service, fast preparation, and we all liked our orders. Reasonably priced.
I recommend stopping in, we were too full, but they offer some good dairy desserts.
We’ll be back.

If you’re visiting from out of town or just passing through you are spoiled for choice in Wichita on where to eat. Choose Jimmies Diner. I recommend the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. Ask to sit in Cookie’s section. She knows how to make you feel welcome.

Corned beef hash, over easy eggs and pancakes were good, but very disappointed to receive 4 doses of margarine instead of butter for my pancakes. I should have asked the restaurant for real butter instead, but then again, I don’t believe that a diner of this caliber should skimp by not having real butter as a daily standard. Instead, margarine should play 2nd fiddle to butter and be the specialized requested item for those who have dietary restrictions to abstain from butter.
Will definitely come back, but shall request real butter when I place my order. Service was prompt and friendly.

I hadn’t been to this restaurant in quite a while. I was on the east side, so I decided to stop in. My previous visits were pleasant and the food was good. How things have changed. I ordered the hamburger steak. The hamburger was way over cooked and didn’t taste too good. The mashed potatoes had bits of potatoes that weren’t fully cooked. Even the brown gravy wasn’t very tasty. And finally, Jimmy’s had been famous for their milkshakes. They would make them in a large tin cup, fill up a soda glass and had left over in the tin cup. Well I ordered my favorite chocolate milkshake with carmel. When it came, I instantly knew there was no carmel, and everyone knows you make a chocolate milkshake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Not with chocolate ice cream. Very lazy! Too make it even worse, there were small bits of chocolate mixed in that just ruined the texture for me. It’s very sad at how the food quality has dwindled. If this is the new status quo, I don’t know how they can stay in business. I will be very reluctant to return. One positive note was that the house salad with blue cheese dressing was very good.
