We kicked off with the Garlic Bread (V) – soft, buttery buttermilk buns topped with green garlic butter, Parmesan, and crispy garlic chips. It was the perfect appetizer: rich, flavorful, and incredibly moreish.
Next, we tried the Portuguese Chicken Skewer. The spiced chicken thighs were tender and juicy, with just the right hint of lemon to elevate the flavors. Every bite was aromatic and perfectly balanced – a true starter to get your taste buds excited.
The star of the meal, of course, was the Monte Grain Fed New Yorker 300g steak. Cooked exactly to our liking and grilled to perfection with their signature basting, it was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. It came with creamy mashed potatoes and our choice of sauces – we went with Hot African Chilli for a spicy kick and Biltong Butter for a rich, savory twist. Every combination worked beautifully, making each bite unique and indulgent.
The ambience of the restaurant is classy yet relaxed, perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure our experience was seamless.
Overall, The Meat & Wine Co Circular Quay delivers top-quality food, excellent service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. If you’re a steak lover or just someone who appreciates bold, well-executed flavors, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
Absolutely beautiful presentation of the food, it so perfectly cooked and tasty. Many options for cocktails and alcohol. From the entrees to mains and dessert the food was just absolutely amazing. The restaurant price are on point but the caliber of steaks and quality of the sides
Excellent service from the time we enter into the restaurant. We felt very welcomed to the meat and wine co. with a beautiful table setting next to a fire. Staff were super friendly and attentive at all times. Our server was super nice to us, great customer service.
This is a place i cam without a doubt would recommend and will definitely visit this place again. What you get is a 5 start service and food.
My partner and I celebrated our sixth anniversary at Meat & Wine Co, Circular Quay and it was such a beautiful experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted so politely and warmly and guided to our reserved table.
Throughout the night, we were checked on regularly in the loveliest way, offered special menus and even got to hear a bit about the story behind the restaurant which made it feel even more special and personal.
The food was absolutely delicious; every single bite was incredible. I highly recommend dining here if you want amazing food and outstanding service.
A special thank you to the two wonderful servers who looked after us that night; you truly made our anniversary extra special. My partner and I will definitely be coming back and we’ll be recommending this place to our family and friends.
We ordered the tomahawks, truffle mac and cheese, bread and garlic bread, beef tartare, and tuna sashimi. The bread on its own was solid, but truly elevated by the selection of butters served alongside it. The tomahawks were very well cooked and full of flavour — definitely a cut you should order rare or medium-rare to really enjoy the tenderness. The truffle mac and cheese was rich, indulgent and unapologetically cheesy — a crowd-pleaser.
The standout of the night was the beef tartare. It was beautifully balanced, with subtle crunch throughout that added texture and made each bite genuinely exciting. The tuna sashimi, however, was underwhelming in comparison — not bad, just forgettable next to everything else.
Service was relaxed yet professional, striking a good balance without feeling rushed. The atmosphere was a highlight: warm lighting, an almost safari-inspired aesthetic, and a lively but comfortable dining vibe that suited the space perfectly.
That said, while the food was good, it’s hard to say it fully justifies the price. I would come back because the quality is there, but the pricing would need to feel more competitive for it to become a regular spot.
We also ordered the mac & cheese without truffle, and it was surprisingly good – rich, comforting and very well done.
The only downside is the pricing. It’s definitely on the expensive side, and while we understand premium pricing for quality steaks, it would be nice if sauces were included rather than charged extra on top of already high-priced mains. That made the overall bill feel a bit over the top, and it’s something that would make us think twice before visiting again.
That said, the service was top notch – very friendly, attentive staff and a great dining atmosphere. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and a solid 4-star dining spot for a special occasion.
For our meal, we ordered the garlic bread, prawns, chicken skewers, and the barramundi, plus a few cocktails. The food was okay overall. The prawns weren’t bad at all, the skewers were actually really good and well-cooked, and the barramundi was fine. The cocktails were also a nice addition to the meal.
The customer service was definitely a highlight as the staff were very professional and attentive to our table the whole time. While the place looks fancy and looks the part, it felt like it lacked a bit of a lively vibe or energy during our visit. However, the dining experience was good overall and it is a great spot if you are looking for a nice environment and good service.
Food and drinks were great, but we prefer the other Meat and wine co Sydney location.
Staff were really helpful with allergies and provided the menu so I could see what they could alter to make gluten free for me.
I didn’t eat the bruschetta as it wasn’t gluten free but everything was delicious.
First of all, we made a mistake with our booking — we arrived at 6:00 PM as planned, but it turned out that I had accidentally booked the wrong branch (I was in such a rush and didn’t notice!). Despite this, the staff were incredibly kind and still managed to find a table for us. I was genuinely grateful for their help.
Our server, Manish, provided exceptional service throughout the evening. He was friendly, attentive, and helpful when explaining the menu. He even arranged a surprise birthday dessert and sang Happy Birthday for my partner. It truly made us feel special.
This was our third time dining here, and we continue to be impressed with the food. The flavours were wonderful as always. This time, the salad dressing tasted even better — although the colour might look a bit unusual, the flavour was excellent. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Fondant, which came beautifully presented with pistachio sauce and kunafa strands. It paired perfectly and tasted amazing.
A big thank you to the staff and the chefs for making our dinner tonight so special. We really appreciate the warm hospitality and delicious food.
