Food here hit an miss. Ribs suck tiny an mostly fat. Ribs are over cooked an dry. Sometimes cole slaw can taste spoiled. It’s good when it’s good.
Burgers are fantastic here.
Pulled pork is good. Sliced not so much.
Staff are nice and kind an provide good service. Location looks pretty clean.

Pamela M was our waitress on 11/25/25 and she was GREAT!
Three of us had just arrived in DeLand FL after driving straight thru from Birminghsm, AL as no just wanted some good BBQ.
The food was excellent, service superior and Pam’s warm, friendly service and suggestions for our meals were wonderful. We will definitely make this our ‘Pit Stop when we travel to DeLand every other month.
We felt like had known our waitress for way longer than the brief time at her restaurant! She made some great suggestions for our meals and each was tight on target…we never wanted for anything during our visit and food arrived in a timely manner and was just the right temperature
Paa as m is definitely a keeper!!!

15 Feb 2025 Dinner… The food at Sonny’s is always great! Service always with a friendly smile and the restaurant is always clean/tidy and very presentable. The only reason for dropping one star is because our ribs were not hot. We ordered the all you can eat baby back ribs and each round was always only luke warm. Didn’t want to send them back so we accepted them, and they were delicious. I’m sure they would have accommodated us if we asked, but something like this shouldn’t need to be asked. On the other hand, our server Pam was awesome! Super friendly and accommodating, always with a beautiful smile (see pictures!). Frequently checked back in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. She’s the only server I’d ever want

Sonny’s has good BBQ Ribs and chicken.. when you come ask for PAM.. you will never go wrong if you have her as your waitress. She will recommend what is best for you and excellent customer service. My wife and I enjoyed the meal she recommended and had a great time. Big shout out to Pam.. Thanks for the excellent service you provided for us.

I do have to say beforehand that I love Sonny’s bbq. It is excellent it is a great interest restaurant or curbside delivery experience. I unfortunately dealt with doordash on a delivery which everything pretty much arrived cold except for the green beans. Which were pretty good! But as for the rest of it I ended up throwing it all away because the food was so cold and it was just flavorless and because it was not promptly delivered really ruined my experience. But this like I said is a doordash issue not a Sonny’s issue.

We used to love Sonny’s. It was a bit busy so I’ll take slower greeting into consideration. I loved my Carolina pulled pork sandwich but my family did not have the same. Brisket extremely fatty and dry. I can’t remember what the others had, but hubby says “no” to visiting again.

I know these reviews are OFTEN forgotten. However, I wouldn’t want our server to miss out on any recognition for her amazing service this evening! My delightful server was, Pam! My party of 4, visiting from Southern California, had a wonderful experience and delicious meals and will most definitely return for a meal upon arrival on our next trip there. We certainly hope, Pam, will be our server again and Everytime we done at Sonny’s DeLand when visiting FL again. Pam, had such a friendly, hospitable, happily contagious personality. I have included specifics of the state we were visiting from because we shared that info with, Pam, and want her to know we completed her review. Pam, was fantastic and deserves any awards given for this review!

Pam was absolutely amazing top to bottom she took care of all of my needs. She was super attentive to coming back back-and-forth to the table and it was just an absolute pleasure to work and sit and be met by such a kind human being.
