I accidentally stumbled upon Ritual on my way to work the other day. I was planning to stop in to a neighboring coffee shop that I’d been to before but saw the sign for bakehouse and thought to myself that a breakfast snack would be a great idea.
I was pleased to find out that I could also grab a latte, to go, from Ritual. The space is beautiful and the staff was wonderful!
I was a bit skeptical of the breakfast sandwich, as it looked like it would be mostly bread (not sustenance), but I was wrong. Inside that pillowy (I assume potato-based roll) was a delicious egg, bacon and special sauce combination! I will be stopping here again, in the future!

this was my last stop before leaving Maine (saw it on my TikTok fyp lol) and it was sooooo tasty. Such creative bakery items and the breakfast sandwich was delicious!!! The espresso tastes very high quality too. 1010 super friendly staff too!!! Couldn’t be happier 🙂

Based on Google Maps reviews, I chose to sample Ritual Bakehouse and Patisserie for breakfast last week. What a delight! The croissant and the garlic crisp were superb – crisp and rich. Equally important, it is a charming and welcoming place to enjoy the. My wife too approved of the pastries I brought home for her.

Smells amazing as you walk by. I popped in just to see the inside and there were fresh cut flowers galore (bouquets you could buy even), French tea, and all kinds of gorgeous pastries!!!
I got a plum one to try for later, and also a Something & Nothing Pineapple & Pink Grapefruit soda. Sounds delish!

I’m so grateful that Ritual Bakehouse is here in Brunswick; it means I don’t have to drive to Portland for a great croissant or to Montreal for an unforgettable French cake.
Last summer, my husband and I asked April if she could cater a small wedding gathering for us, and she went above and beyond. She prepared a beautiful spread of breakfast pastries with coffee for the morning, and an exquisite entremet cake for the afternoon. We love light, not-too-sweet cakes with Japanese/Asian flavor influences, and April created a custom fraisier with yuzu sponge and marmalade, matcha mousseline, and strawberry jam. Everyone at our gathering said it was the best cake they’d ever had — we even talked about planning a reunion and ordering the exact same cake.
The breakfast pastries were just as well-loved. Several guests who usually have sensitivities to bread or pastries commented that they felt great after eating April’s: proof of the care and quality that go into everything she makes.
April and her team are always warm and welcoming, and the shop has such a cheerful, inviting vibe. If she ever expands into more dessert offerings, I’m convinced Ritual could become the best French pastry shop in all of Maine, if not New England. After living in multiple major cities, I’ve yet to find anyone who makes cake like hers.

The folks at my favorite dispensary sent me here one day when I was asking for a good breakfast spot. Now I go at least once a week. Everyone is super friendly. The selection of baked goods is unlike anything else around. Chocolate croissant is a must!

I feel so lucky to live close enough to enjoy Ritual Bakery often! April, the owner, is such a delight, and her team makes every visit a joy. The pastries are unbelievably good, always fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. The bakery itself is bright, inviting, and filled with such a warm energy that it instantly makes you feel at home.
