There has been a lot of debate about Ed Walkers in the last year or so. This was a favorite place to eat in Fort Smith when we came to town, in recent years we’ve started trying new places each time so it’s been a couple of years since we last ate here. We decided to try it out again to see for ourselves if rumors of slipping quality and service were true or not. I’m happy to report the food was cooked just right, the burger patties we done through but still juicy. Mom had the half pound cheeseburger, I got the Bahama momma. We also split an order of half jalapeño buttons and half fried pickle chips. The young ladies serving were all sweet and polite as a proper Southerner would expect. Prices have gone up but for the quality and quantity of food it’s not unreasonable. Total bill was $38 and change or us both and the Roquefort dressing is definitely still my favorite. Only issue I had was the dressing on my burger dud make the bottom bun a bit soggy before I was done, next time I’ll ask for it on the side instead.

Super delicious and quick service! My first stop here in Arkansas and once I pulled up I could tell I was in for a treat. Great vibe and history behind this restaurant. My hot dog was great I really loved the poppy seed bun and the curly fries were perfect and bountiful. Would visit here everyday if I lived here.

It’s like walking back in time when you enter Ed Walker’s! A nostalgic atmosphere with its diner booths and vintage decor. The service was fast and friendly. The food was fine (made to order and hot) though the World Famous French Dip was dry and bland. The fish and chips entree was also just okay. The 2 pieces of fish were small and thin and with drink was more than $16 for the one meal. We both left most of our meal on the plates. The curly fries were hot and fresh and we were served a large amount. The desserts looked delicious and the french silk pie did not disappoint. All in all, for $50 (including tip) for two people, I would probably dine elsewhere or definitely try something different from the menu. All of the servers were friendly and attentive and we will certainly dine here again but will try different entrees.

A great lunch experience with my wife and son. I had a pastrami on rye with crunchy onion rings, my wife enjoyed a BLT and my son a big cheeseburger with fries. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted great! Service was excellent; atmosphere fun and nostalgic and noise level just loud enough to not interfere with normal conversation.

A Fort Smith institution! Great service and good food. The French dip is my go to order. You have to try the curly fries. They are awesome! The homemade desserts are also really good.

It was our first time here. I had just recently read about this place and then we happened to drive by so we decided to stop and give it a try. The service and atmosphere were great. I ordered the famous French dip. It had really great flavor. My husband ordered the Philly. He said that it lacked the bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. They may have been cut so small that they weren’t noticeable?? He was a bit disappointed in his sandwich, but we both enjoyed the French fries and onion rings. The food seemed a bit pricey for the amount you are served. They had many delicious looking pie. If we were going straight home, we would have gotten a couple of slices. Overall, a good place and we would stop there again if we’re in the area.

I’d first heard about this restaurant seeing posts online. While I was in town, I stopped in to see what it was all about.
There’s a 5-pound burger that I really want to try someday.
I was told about a special they had where it was an open face burger with french fries. I tried looking for its name on the menu but can’t find it. You can see it in the photo attached. It was amazing.
It’s everything you’d want and expect in a place like Ed Walkers.

I was visiting Ft Smith to do some antique shopping when I noticed this restaurant that was next door had a full parking lot. I have this rule that if a local restaurant is packed, I need to check it out.
The diner has this 50’s feel to it. They have display cases with pies and cakes that look delicious. The staff are courteous and friendly. I noticed that whenever someone left, they are quick to clean up and that table is taken right away, it seems they stay full, which means the food is good.
Their sign says French dipped sandwiches, so I figured I’d give it a try, and I have to say it was excellent. My wife had a cheeseburger with curly fries and she ate all of it, which is telling because she rarely finishes her food.
If I’m ever back in Ft Smith, I’m definitely coming back.

Crispy Chicken Salad was fresh and tasty. I really liked the breading on the chicken. The Hot Mama Burger was juicy, but was lacking seasoning. The roast beef on the Club House was dry and didn’t taste very good. The fries were hot and crispy. Waitress wasn’t as attentive as I would usually expect. Not sure if I would go back, nothing really that amazing.

This place was delicious! Stopped by passing through Fort Smith, on our way north. Found from Diners Drive Ins & Dives. Really cool spot, friendly staff, reasonable! The Cheeseburgers were absolutely delicious, and onion rings. Got the famous French dip too, but burgers were superior, hands down. Would recommend!
