What a pleasant surprise! We are new to the area and have not been to a Ponderosa in years! The inside is very nice with good atmosphere. There is quite a nice variety of items for each of the different stations. The salad bar is wonderful with many choices. There are a lot of good deserts. The fried chicken is very good. The waiters were very friendly and helpful and the price is right. We will return!

Decent food and good service. They were jam packed for a Saturday night. The ac unit was having issues but southern Indiana doesn’t get too many 93 degree days. The staff was working hard to serve everyone. A few rude customers especially this old guy on his crip cart. But the staff handled him with class.

I thought that this chain had gone out of business a long time ago – but look at what we have here.
They offer a limited selection of hot foods, and a huge salad bar. I had some concerns about how old a few of the foods are, like the soup, but the rest of the stuff wasn’t bad. Most of the food is rather bland, probably catering to the picky and elderly.
You can’t beat it for the money. The lunch time prices are very reasonable.

Great. Very clean and well monitored buffet bars. Food well cooked! Not dried up or over cooked. I was surprised to find the awesome flavors in their ham and beans on the bar!!

Worst place it don’t get any stars. Not much to choose from. Alot of food was dry. The chicken was not done. Bloody chicken. If you didn’t look you before eating you might get really sick. I will never return no recommending this place in scottsburg Indiana.

Old school salad bar buffet, good food, a bit of a wait on our entrees and the toppings on the baked potatoes were wrong. However the food on the salad, hot foods, soup and dessert bars were all looking fresh and tasted good. The mashed potatoes and gravey brought back happy childhood memories. Also our waitresses was friendly, attentive and apologized for the wait and gave us a free refill on our drinks for the road. Much appreciated. Would recommend.

Blast from the past but food quality was less than desirable. Popcorn shrimp tasted good but we found out towards the end of our meal that they had not been deveined.
