Went to Stricklands in Ellet and overall it was good. I ordered a Banana Split. It looked like if you ordered a cone then you got your ice cream quickly. Mine took a little while to come out, but I understand more effort goes into it. They didn’t put my cherry on it originally and when I asked about it, they said it didn’t come with one. There is literally a cherry in the picture on the menu board. She finally gave me one after I ponted it out. I think the ice cream scoops were a little small for a sundae that is $7.75 which is why I didn’t give a 5 star. If there was a 4.5 star option I would have given it that.

This place is awesome. They always have amazing homemade ice cream and change the flavors every 3 days or so. I always stop every time I am in Akron. The Buckeye sunday is awesome. Customer service is great and portion sizes are huge. Don’t forget about the banana split. Great place for kids and prices are cheap as well.

Visited several times with my friend Carlos back in the summer of 2025. Boy, I feel like it was just yesterday.
Poor Carlos – he’s no longer with us, but I hold the moments we had together close to my heart.
I cherish the thoughts of young Carlos with his frail body and over enthusiasm for the Stricklands flavor of the day. The which was something in the color of Blue, (he loved that flavor so so much)
Silly him though the suns too hot! It melted and blue ice cream all over the parking lot!
I laughed and smirked – “slow down there kid, your gonna need a cup”
Yep boys – these are the days.

Everyone seems to love this place, the ice cream is ok but it’s really soft and melts quite quickly. I realize it’s “custard” but it didnt even taste that cold. They rotate their flavors but there really aren’t different options for people with dietary needs. They have a no sugar added flavor but it literally stays the same all summer. Other places change up bi-weekly and have other options for non dairy. It would also be nice to have some tables for seating…there is only a couple of benches for the crowds that you see there. It’s an ok place but not my go to spot for ice cream. My opinion, there are better ice cream spots that offer more of an experience for your money.
