In an ever-changing world, it’s comforting to know some things never change, like Paul’s Drive In. We’ve been in business since the 1960s serving authentic smash burgers made with fresh, never frozen, beef. Come in and try our signature Big Boy burger with all the fixings. Other local favorites include our Italian pork steak or the tenderloin sandwiches. And of course, there are crispy french fries, onion rings, and tater tots, not to mention fried mushrooms to round out your meal. If you have any room left, we serve the best soft serve in the area. Enjoy a classic cone in vanilla, chocolate, or zebra, a shake or old-school malt, a cyclone, a soda float, or a banana split.

The quality wasn’t the same. PAULS was always consistent. Burger was very dry, fries weren’t golden & crispy.. I will still swear by PAULS being the best smash burger in Kansas City but I hope that was an off day. I’ll definitely be having it again soon. Hopefully it’ll be better.
It was okay. Nothing terrible, but nothing astoundingly great either.
The burger was servicable. If you order it online you can order it without seasoning. I didn’t ask for it without seasoning. I am not sure how it would taste without it because it really had no defining taste allegedly with it.
I also ordered the burger without pickles but still thought I tasted pickles on the burger. They didn’t put pickles on there, so I think they may have been diced up in the sauce they use. Not sure, unless some just got on my burger and I didn’t notice it. Not a fan of pickles, so either way, it ruined the burger for me.
The losers are are the fries and drink. The fries tasted like they were fried in old oil. Good fries are crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle. Not these. They are just crips and really weren’t that great.
The soda also tasted watered down. I judge a place that cuts corners on the cheapest thing on their menu. Water down the soda, I wonder what other corners you’re cutting. And the soda was so unappealing because of it, I didn’t bother asking if they offered free refills, because even if they did, I don’t want one.
Good burger places are hard to find in Kansas City. I heard this was one of them. It may do in a pinch but it’s nothing I will be rushing back to.
Not the most inviting building but once your in, for the most part there are good, respectable employees
Counter lady was coughing up every five seconds and they were more concerned about closing the lobby than customer Service try to serve me a banana split with expired black banana, Tater tots were hard and stale. One of most disgusting hot dogs i ever eaten in my life!! Walmart in my area, serves Nathan’s hotdogs $1.50 each that taste 1000 times much better!!
It’s not bad! Pretty good burger, though I did expect a bigger sandwich. I thought the onion rings were excellent, though I am not sure they are fully prepared on site. The fountain drink tasted a little flatter than one should expect.
I would go back for another try. It’s definitely better than most chain hamburgers, and more expensive. I’d be interested in how the rest of the menu tastes. It’s old school greasy, if you like that sort of food.
