Huge fan of this place until today. Stopped in ordered 2 dozen mixed tamales to go with a quart of green chili. Total bill $52.50. Sign says check you order before you leave. Opened the bag, 1 qt of green chili, check. 2 foil packs of tamales, check. Boy what a Suprise when I got home to discover each foil back only contained 6 tamales. When the sign stated check you order I didn’t realize I needed to dissect it that closely!

Simple restaurants seem to be the best at everything. You order at the counter then take your seat and wait for your name to be called. One of my favorite meals is the smothered bean burrito. Their green chili is not too spicy and very yummy. I have ordered tamales by the dozen for years. My only gripe is that their prices keep going up and up on the tamales by the dozen. BUT they are delicious tamales and if you don’t know how to make your own they are worth the price. 🙂 I love this place!

Would love to rate 5 starts cause they do have the best chilli. Ordered take out before I took my daughter to her appointment.And got 2 beef tacos 1 Chili bean burrito.And 3 plain cheese burrito.I ordered take out because my mom was going to watch my 2 year old and grandson.Cause I had no time to make food.So when I took back to the house all the burritos had green chili.My 2 year old bit in it.So I called and told them the kids burritos had chili in them.They told me I can come back and get refund or remake them.I said I didn’t have time I had to go to appointment.I would come after my appointment.So I did and was asked for the burritos to show proof.Told the lady if I would have known I would have brought the burritos but I didn’t want to take them to my appointment.So they said no refund.So i asked to talk to manger and they said he was to busy.WOW!! They only reason I’m mad cause manger couldn’t even come out to talk to me.And cause the burritos had chili in them.

They were under cooked.
Better term raw masa not eatable.

Called to let them know.
They didn’t want to hear it.
I wanted to give all 6 dozen back and get a refund. They didn’t want to hear anything I was saying.

Wow, these were the best tamales I have had in Colorado. The Frito pie was also delicious. They get really busy but it is Soo worth the wait. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The tamales we bought for Christmas were dry, barely any meat mostly masa , a huge disappointment especially since my family has been buying these tamales for 40 + years.. quality is not there anymore , time to make my own or find a new place , I’m not wasting another dime on this place , it’s just terrible how the food in the Northside is no longer good since the turned it to yuppie ville . Sure am glad my mom was here to witness such a disgrace of the tamales, she knew all the owners there and at chubbys being we lived in the Northside our whole lives she owned her home right off 32 and zuni for over 70 years , terris tacos was the best on w 32nd . It’s too bad these younger generations ruin all the good food , chubbys is terrible now to ever since Grandma Cordova died so did her delicious food . Don’t waste your money folks they are not worth what the charge .

Great experience here at Tamales by La Casita, first timer at this establishment, it was recommended by my mom and when it comes to tamales or Mexican food she’s very crucial on the food and service.. But again she was right about here.. Food was great, service was fast and the atmosphere was very chill…I had there 2 tamales and 2 overeasy eggs on top and it was awesome the beans where decent and the sauce was spicy but it was just right.. It was a little pricey but it’s worth the price I think.. In a very good neighborhood with easy parking access didn’t get to try their root beer float unfortunately but I will next time I come… They seem very popular as I saw multiple customers buy them while I was there… Employees where very nice.. The girl who took my order was very sweet also beautiful gave great service also but didn’t get here name.. They do also sell beer and margaritas also!! Very clean restaurant!! Definitely recommend if you’re ever in that area! 5

The young lady that took my order was very nice, Ghost C. I’m trying to find a good tamale. I ordered six red and six green. They are OK. Seemed like a nice little restaurant I did take out. I imagine the parking lot would get pretty crowded if it was lunchtime. But at least they have a parking lot.

You just can’t go wrong. Great for the holidays and the pricing is very affordable.
A single tamale is like $1.60 and a dozen around $14.60
If you know how hard tamales are to make you deeply value their quality at this restaurant.
