Tips From A Bellman
First I want to say is everyone was friendly , especially my waitress , I think her name was Annie. Since this was my first time she went over a few things. I was really in the mood for Chicken Fried Steak and that is what I ordered. I was seated a little off the main dining area I would suppose since it was just me. I liked sitting by the window , but since it was my first time it would’ve been nice to sit with more decor. There was a Christmas tree in my area.

To start she gave me a pot of coffee and water. The coffee was definitely not a pick me up , very weak and not much flavor. The manager came by when I was about finished and talked to me a little and said he was from Yukon since I had told him I just retired and moved to be with my son and his wife in Mustang and how I liked the small town living. He said he gets about half and half on the coffee from people , half like it and half don’t like me. Also being from South Carolina originally I love breakfast. I moved from Las Vegas where I’ve been since 1991. I was surprised that Big Biscuit doesn’t give a Military Discount especially being across the street from the Air Force Base. I’m a Veteran.

Back to food ! The Chicken Fried Steak was good sized and cooked properly , but the gravy wasn’t right. Instead of a white gravy with some sausage in it , it was a brown gravy. It also needed more seasoning like pepper which I put quite a bit on. The Grits were a bit off and I love Grits. They seemed like they needed a little less water when cooked or cooked a bit more. I read in the comments that someone had enquired about the Grits and were told they use chicken stock to cook their Grits with , that might be the problem. I also added quite a bit of salt and pepper to them.

The Biscuit was picture perfect and very soft. It did fall apart a little , but with Butter it was pretty good. I tried also a couple pieces with the Grape Jelly and with the Strawberry Jelly. The Biscuit tasted better with the Butter. Scrambled Eggs were cooked properly and tasted good and a little fluffy which I like. With Tax was $25.00 , a little more than I think it should’ve been , but close. I would like to give them another try again one day , maybe another location. The manager said he was trying to get them to build one in Yukon which I think would be a good idea. I will try the Pancakes next time or something else.

Had to go to Navy Fed, saw this next door, had to try it. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken and waffles (no pickles, add butter), coffee, and an iced vanilla cold brew latte (to-go). Coffee came out hot, but not overly, enough that adding a little cream and sugar didn’t make it cold. First sip of the coffee, it had a very mellow flavor, not burnt or dirty tasting like most breakfast places and, in my opinion, a pretty good cup. Soon after, my entree came out and when I stabbed the fork into the chicken, I was pleasantly surprised by the crispness of the breading. Trying to move it was a trial as it was so tender and juicy that the strip ripped trying to move it to the side. The waffle had a decent sweetness to it, but not overwhelming and was very soft. If I had a complaint about my meal, it was that the chicken wasn’t true Nashville hot chicken…it was like they got a bowl of Lotta Zing from Golden Chick and sprinkled it all over; this made the chicken have good flavor, but not very spicy. In all, I definitely recommend this place (already have to my wife and daughter) and will be coming back.

My waitress was VERY inattentive she would ask us things then not show up with it she spent most of her time in the big room. She brought my husband water instead of asking if he wanted another lemonade Just not great table management. We were basically served by managers the whole time. The managers were very nice and kind. The food was amazing it’s a cozy experience.

My first time eating here was excited to try it. Ordered the Jim’s Platter one Biscuit, Potatoes, and Two Eggs 11.99 there was little to no gravy on the biscuit. I asked for a little more and they said that would cost $2.49 extra I wasn’t happy the waitress Josylyn sent over the Manager Royce and he had the attitude to bad so sad! I asked the waitress to please bring the gravy she never did! I will not being eating with this company again!

Love the vibe. The nods to pulp fiction is cool. The portions are huge. Any meal is shareable. We love the make your on dirty sodas. Pumpkin pancakes have a great flavor. I love the whip cream. The gravy was not my favorite. To thin for me and heavy on the pepper but still good just thin for me. Gabriel was are server nice and prompt.
