Walked from our home in Annecy through the ice looking for any signs of life. We saw exhaust coming from Azteca and decided to go in. We were treated to a delicious meal and margaritas. The entire staff was warm and welcoming. We are kicking ourselves for not trying them out sooner. Definitely coming back around in better weather.

Some of the best Mexican food in the Charlotte region. I used to always get the fajitas and they still looked as a good as ever.
I got the chimichanga and it was exactly like I remember. Crispy, cheesey and tasty!
They also have a huge range of more authentic Mexican dishes, not just Americanized classics!

Im stuck between the fresh guacamole cart served on a traditional mortar and the fresh handmade tortillas being prepared in the dinning area .
I can honestly recommend this restaurant to anybody very kid friendly as well they have the largest menu making it impossible to be picky.
What I ordered : the breaded fish fillet plate with hand made tortillas, a tamarind agua fresca , fresh guacamole & for dessert a flan

My boyfriend and I ordered for pick up. We got Pollo Crema, the lunch special Chicken quesadillas, bean dip, and guacamole. First they were overcharging us and gave us the wrong things. The Pollo Crema didn’t look normal or edible and the thing that really made us angry was the guacamole. A small “Fresh” guacamole that cost of $9.75 smelt HORRIBLE + SPOILED and had a thick brown coating on it. My boyfriend and I were so disappointed. All of what we paid for was $52.72…. And it didn’t seem worth it at all. We were so disappointed and mad we wanted to call them and ask for a refund, but knew we probably wouldn’t get one. We are so disappointed. EDIT: we found a piece of plastic in our food and the Pollo Crema is 100% spoiled. 1 star

We’re from a small town in SC and lemme tell you, this place ALONE made the 3 hour trip soooo worth it! You will NOT be disappointed by ANY MEANS; it’s actually perfect. Even with multiple parties besides ours of 3, the service was QUICK, the food was PHENOMENAL, and the atmosphere was so warm and felt like HOME. Even if you’re only stopping through the city, you HAVE TO COME HERE!!!!

Typical Mexican restaurant menu with a cool atmosphere and excellent service! On a Saturday night at 7 PM when Texas Roadhouse had a one hour wait we were able to get in with no wait and had some of the best Mexican food we’ve had.
Their decor is unique and really cool. Lots of little details such as the crown molding with the pink white wash and all of the art and murals.
We had chicken fajitas and tacos, both of which were excellent. For desserts, we tried sopapillas, Tres leches cake, and churros. Our personal favorite was the sopapillas as the flavor was excellent.

This is the single greatest place I’ve ever eaten at. The atmosphere was wonderful music was not overpowering, but helped the mood so much, The service was so far above and beyond anything I could have imagined. This is what it’s like to dream of a restaurant, very quick service with a customer focus. They don’t just create food, This place creates an experience and a memory to cherish.

We like going to Mathews. We begin going by recommendation of one of our neighbors when we moved in to Concord NC.
However charging for limes is really not a good look. The menu is ok. The tacos al pastor are not good, there is no queso fundido, micheladas are also not great.
As a Mexican that enjoys Mexican food I prefer going to the moorsville location than this one even if it’s farther.
Staff is great. Food and beverages need improvement. Also you guys really n3ed to stop charging for limes. I will start bringing my lime with me and making a viral moment of this persist I promise.

Great place to come when you are REALLY hungry. They offer huge potions with plenty of leftovers. Free chips and salsa with plenty of seating to choose from. They have live mariachi if you would like. Normal menu options. Anything from burritos, tacos, ceviche, seafood, etc. Located right off independence blvd. Convinient location.
