The service was quick, and everything came out in a timely manner. That said, the restaurant does automatically include a 20 percent gratuity, and you can sometimes feel that the attentiveness is a little less sharp because of the guaranteed tip. They also charge for everything, even cornbread, which you might expect to be complimentary at a Southern restaurant.
As for the food, the calamari was hands down the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, crispy, and packed with flavor. I would honestly go back just for that. The fried chicken is their signature, and while it was very good and well seasoned, I would not say it beats Popeyes, especially considering the price point. It is definitely solid, but the cost makes you compare it more critically.
Overall, Delta’s is on the expensive side, especially for Southern food. However, the vibes, drinks, and entertainment make it a great hangout spot. Just keep in mind that entertainment usually comes with an additional charge. If you are going for the atmosphere and a fun night out, it is worth checking out. If you are strictly going for value, you may feel it is a bit overpriced.
The best part of my dinner. The food although served hot at a decent pace was lazy. Not much love in the Rodizio nor the sides. The meats lacked seasoning, as well as the greens and yams. Mac and cheese was good nothing special. The henny sangria was SLAP but was a little light on the henny. Portions were good so I’ll give them that. Might be back for a brunch to give this place one more try. Beautiful restaurant with wonderful ambience just needs a little more attention to detail.
That one question sums up why I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone based on customer service alone. It was easily the rudest greeting I’ve ever received at any establishment on this planet. As a BLACK MAN entering what’s looks to be the at the least majority black staffed establishment. I never been so coldly received and unwelcomed. Like I was begging to be seated and came in to establishment soliciting in soiled clothing. I believe if I was any other group of people I wouldn’t have be treated so poorly.
I arrived about 10 minutes late to join a party of TWO; my guest was already seated and informed the staff of my late arrival. The restaurant was maybe 1/5 full basically there was no need to delay my seating or be so strict on reservations especially when the party is already seated. One of the THREE hostess/staff at the stand asked if I had a reservation, in a tone that was already less than welcoming. I politely said, “My party is already here, Hold on please,” while I checked where my guest was sitting. Once I confirmed they were upstairs, I told the hostess. She then insisted I give the party name fine, so she can have someone escort me to the table. Which is weird but ok. But then, with the most nastiest condescending attitude, she asked, “Are you just saying hi, or are you dining in?” I was stunned. Why would you ask a paying customer that, especially when they’re clearly joining a seated party? It immediately killed my appetite and came there for brunch at 1pm on a Sunday. I never even got to find out what the food tastes like, because the way I was spoken to made me lose any interest in ordering anything not even a glass a water. Still my party had already ordered so basically said “HI” while they ate. Music was way too loud even sitting upstairs and still gratuity was already included. And ENTERTAINMENT FEE 2X I can’t believe it $36 is excess fees for one person dining. I didn’t even get a glass a water
The front door makes you think the location is small, BUT what a spacious open restaurant. You don’t feel as if you are on top of the foodies next to you. From the walls to the chairs to the pictures, the restaurant is culture filled in its decoration. The food is so good. We had the steak egg roll, and the spicy ketchup could have used a kick of spice. The catfish and turkey wings were full of flavor. Our waiter, Amber, answered all questions, gave honest food advice, and she made sure our cups were always full. The Delta is a restaurant that I will surely visit again !!!
