Hosted my daughters baby shower. Staff was courteous and pleasant. Their food was delicious and was kept warm the whole time. Will definitely do more parties here.

My experience is limited to frequent pickups of salsa and sometimes I get chips with it. Their salsa is so flipping good. I’m glad to have found the two Save Mart locations that also sell it. There was one time when I got chips and they weren’t great, they were either underdone or stale but all the other times they were cooked correctly. They are very basic, they don’t add seasoning like some other places do but they work just fine for salsa. The hostess has always been very friendly even when there is a bit of a crowd at the entrance.

How is the meat burnt and raw at the same time. The server said it was a ground beef and pork blend in the ground beef taco.i explain I ordered a ground beef 2 item combo. It should explained in the menu. Then she put in for replacement taco only. 15 mins later the taco comes out and the guys says it will be great. It was cooked thoroughly this time and the server returned explaining it was ground beef onlyand brought the raw taco back to the kitchen. The lack of knowledge of raw meat or menu items being served is amazing. We only went to sals because country fare was closed for the holiday

I had placed an online order for two combination plates and two Mexican pizzas. The food was good my only complaint was the my husbands three piece combo was missing the third piece as he ordered two enchiladas and one taco. By the time I got home I realized they forgot his taco. Unfortunately I was not able to drive back to the restaurant so they could fix the order. My only recommendation to this restaurant is make sure you actually get what your ordered before you leave.

Food is the BEST !!! as Prices are very fair but I had some very real problems. To explain….
I’m 74 years young and have bad knees and balance problems. As such, I typically use a cane for assistance. However, that becomes a real problem at Sal’s. The floors are clean but kept very slippery. The rubber tip on my cane just slides and becomes useless.
To me, the manner of cleanliness you use is A VERY REAL SAFETY HAZARD !!! The slippery floors !!! I can only imagine this condition creates an accident waiting to happen…. Just hope and pray it won’t be me !!!!

It’s not often I bother leaving a review, but after seeing all the glowing comments about this place, I feel obligated to warn others about what we experienced tonight.

From the moment we walked in, the tone was set. We were greeted with zero friendliness—no smile, no welcome—just an overworked staff that looked irritated we even showed up. Yes, they were busy, but basic courtesy shouldn’t disappear because of that.

We were eventually seated, and our waitress seemed decent at first. She brought out chips while we ordered margaritas. One bite in and I realized the chips were stale, completely flavorless, and honestly should’ve never left the kitchen. Still, I tried to stay optimistic… until the drinks arrived.

The margaritas were an absolute joke. I genuinely don’t think there was a drop of tequila in them. They tasted like someone mixed lemonade with water, threw in some ice, and then half-heartedly rubbed a few grains of salt on the rim. I’ve had better drinks from vending machines.

By the end of the visit, it was clear: this place is nowhere near the standard the reviews made it out to be. In fact, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

This was my first visit—and without question, my last.

A local favorite of ours is Sal’s Mexican Restaurant! Although we’re used to going to the one in Madera, the one in Fresno is now more convenient with my recent move. One thing I can say between the two locations, is that the flavor is delicious and consistent with the quality of food at every visit!

Although, depending on the time and day, there has been occasions where we’ve waited for a table for 2, in my opinion it was worth it to get to enjoy the fine dishes offered here. Compared to other restaurants where you also have to wait for a table regardless, at least we get the best quality food and service here, so the wait isn’t bad.

As for the service, all the staff that we’ve had the pleasure of being assisted by, have been very friendly and made sure that every visit was a great one. Making sure we also have enough chips and salsa, and always topping off our drinks! As for the food, it’s always seasoned very well and full of delicious flavor that I find other places don’t compare to. It’s simple dishes, but not to be underestimated.

I’d like to thank the staff and chefs for always taking care of us and we highly recommend Sal’s for any occasion with friends, family, and significant others.

The dish I recommend the most is the combination plate! It’s the best value for what you get, where you can mix and match what your items are to get a variety of flavors out of every visit. Although, me personally, I usually just get 2-3 enchiladas while my partner sticks to 2-3 tacos!

Overall, Sal’s Mexican Restaurant in Fresno is a great location to visit for great food and great service, even if there are certain days and times where the busyness of the place creates a bit of a wait. In my opinion, it just shows how many people are willing to wait for just a taste of their delicious food! Will definitely be back soon!

Special shout out to our server, Percilla (I hope I spelled it right), for taking care of us tonight. She offered us fantastic service, was very kind, and took really good care of us dining in!

From start to finish, my experience at Sals was truly outstanding. Noah and Areana are hands down the best customer service staff I have ever encountered. They went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect and always greeted me with a warm smile and genuine care. If you want a business that treats customers like family, Sals—with Noah and Areana leading the way—should be your first choice. Five stars are not enough to express my appreciation for their dedication and professionalism!

Sal’s does Mexican food right. The Fancy Burrito with chile verde & black beans is my go to and the best burrito ever, smothered with Jack Cheese. Chips & Salsa is amazing, with chips made fresh. I could just eat chips & salsa here.
Also try their Original Combo or the prawn taco & enchilada dinner…both excellent!

First time coming here tonight. Place is a little packed but not big of a deal. We got seated and right away we got greeted by who we thought was out waitress and she took our drink order. We ordered 2 margaritas to start off. They brought out chips and the 2 margaritas and got given a minute to look at the menu. The chips were tasteless and stale. Then the “margaritas”, were more like Minute Maid lemonade placed with melting ice cubes Had no taste. We had to excuse ourselves and go somewhere else. We did not want the “full experience” by that point. For those rating this place 5 stars…standards? Sal’s, there’s some work to be done for the Fresno location.
