If you like Irish Pubs, then you’ll like J K O’Donnell. If I remember correctly, to wood in the bar is actually from Ireland? We just stopped by for a couple of drinks, in the early afternoon, in the middle of a workday. Therefore, it was really quiet, but the time we spent there was nice. Good whiskey selection. I can see this place being crazy busy, with the right circumstances. It has some good drinks, and little history, and a fun outdoor area. I’m glad I got to stop by.

The best short ribs EVER!!! Seemed like they cooked them for days! Everything was good and the service was great! They had this amazing singer Sunny Taylor plying when we went and we couldn’t have asked for a better night! Amazing outdoor terrace!

Just found my new favorite place in Fort Wayne!
We got the scotch eggs, of course. Then the Irish Breakfast — fried egg, rasher, half banger, black and white blood pudding, tomatoes, corned beef hash, and sourdough toast.
THEN, my favorite (and really only drink I ever drink anymore), a snakebite, aka black velvet, which is half Guinness, half cider, and then our incredible server JR recommended a splash of Ribena black currant, which was
To top it off, I bought a tshirt they just had made by a local artist, that has a frog in a kilt with a pint of Guinness. Come on.

Delicious food, authentic pub feel but not too cold or warm inside. Just right. I had the corn beef and cabbage which I didn’t want to stop eating but I was so full I had to take leftovers home. But that’s partly because of the asparagus and kale dip. The flatbread chips were crispy edges with soft centers and went so well with the dip which you will love if you are a fan of spinach and artichoke dip. Mind you the dip is a dinner item usually and yet we asked for it at lunch and they were happy to make it for us. Hubby got the Shepherd’s and let me try a bite. I can confirm I still don’t like shepherd’s pie but he said it was the best he’s ever had. He had a tooth extracted a week ago and he was still able to eat it because the lamb was just falling apart. He did get it with the Tipperary cheese on top too. All in all we left fat and happy and took a turtle cheesecake slice home for dessert. We were both too stuffed to eat anything more. Between the two of us we finished the chips but not the dip. I would recommend ordering extra chips right off the bat because our friends that recommended this place needed extra chips too.
Our waitress was friendly and happy to help. She brought my sprite no ice without any issue and even remembered for my refill without being reminded. Which she asked if I needed a refill before I could ask for one. She offered a fresh cup for the road which I asked for just the cup so I could take my current sprite and not waste it. It was such a pleasure to eat there, this will be our go to place when visiting Ft Wayne, IN. I don’t know if we will drive 2 hours just for this place, but it’s quite tempting because it was so good!

Great food and service on our visit. Scotch eggs were really good. My husband got the corned beef, was juicy and tender in an amazing broth. I had fish and chips, also great. Awesome selection of beer if that’s your thing – I recommend getting the beer flight. I would come back again when in the Fort.

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Everything we ordered was great.
Just be aware that they take a long time in the kitchen. It’s worth the wait – just be prepared to wait.
And if you don’t have your ID, you’ll need to sit in the back room- which is louder than the main bar area.

A good place to get together with friends! They have Trivia nights here quite often and it is really fun to go. It can get a bit noisy inside so would not recommend if it is for a work related meeting. The food is always amazing and so are the drinks!

Do you want a good Irish bar? Do you want a chill place to hang? This is a great place to meet up with people or have a friendly conversation with the bartenders. If you’ve never been you should! It could be your new favorite place to socialize.

Pretty disappointed here. Was headed to meet my wife and a couple friends for drinks here last night. This took place at 11:02 pm (per google they’re open until midnight on Saturday). Then I get a call from my very confused wife saying when she walked in a staff member told her (unprovoked) “No, we aren’t going to serve you here.” I thought that was strange so I asked if they had said anything or were acting loud/ drunk to which she replied no. I asked if the bar was empty and if they were closing, she said it was packed. So I don’t really understand why she and the two friend she was with were not served and due to the exceptional rudeness of the employee, we were not able to get an explanation. If they stop serving new customers after 11, despite closing at 12, maybe the door should be locked or a polite employee could explain that to people. I’m unsure if that’s the actual policy but I can’t imagine any other reason someone would feel entitled to treat a customer (who is just walking in the door) with such disrespect. She didn’t want to make a scene so she just decided to leave and I met them at another bar but I feel something should be said. The most disappointing part is how much I’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past. It was actually my wife and I’s first date and I’ve always enjoyed the drinks/food, atmosphere and until this point, the staff. As a point of principle I don’t plan to be back anytime soon nor am I interested in recommending JK’s to anyone in the future.

Have been many times but during our last visit we came at 9pm with hopes of enjoying a few good hours. Unfortunately service staff notified us due to a “pilot light” going out they would be closing two hours early. This story changed multiple times as we felt rushed out the rest of our stay.
