Went there on Valentine’s day to have Authentic South Indian food, as there are none in Scarborough. All the ordered items were good except the Vada Sambar which is an irony as it is South Indian restaurant. Sorry but tbh, it was the worst Vada Sambar I have ever had in my 30 years of life. Sambar should have been sweet n sour and runny. Parotta was AMAZING though! Crusty, flaky and buttery! Curry, Biryani and starters were also good, could have been more spicier as we have requested but it’s fine. Portions were fulfilling and chicken was with the bone which is a great thing! On that particular day, they were understaffed as the order took 40 minutes to be served, which was bit disappointing. The staff were helpful and kind though. Overall it was a good experience but they can definitely do better next time. I would love to go for £6 meal deal at lunch time.

Kerala Restaurant delivers more than just food; it’s a culinary journey to Southern India. The quiet, relaxed atmosphere, combined with excellent service and authentic flavours, makes it a perfect spot for both newcomers and seasoned lovers of Indian cuisine. From the tangy pickle trays to the indulgent thali, each dish showcases traditional Kerala recipes crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients.

We had the £6 lunch deal which is a bargain for the huge platter you get, we ordered 2 starters too as we expected it to be small due to the price. Ended up having leftover to take home, the food was delicious- loved their chaat bombs

Had a lovely birthday celebration at Karala in Malton. Had chaat bombs and thali. A totally new experience, enjoyable, definitely Yorkshire portions! The staff were friendly with good service. Constructive criticism, hopefully, more atmosphere could be created if restaurant were warmer, candles were lit and the music was louder a little more modern even 60’s music, just a thought.
Great night, great music, lovely service.

Amazing food and service. Traditional South Indian cuisines that were completely new experiences for me. I tried 2 starters. Firstly the Chaat Bombs which were a taste sensation! Next the Vegetable curry which was also delicious. Then I had the Masala Dosa, this was HUGE and so many sauces came with it, I’d definitely order this again
