Great great food, meals are professionally made and paired with their great brews.
Our waitress forgot their smile and enthusiasm home. Her loss on service.
Highly recommend for their food.
Not sure if other parking was available, but had to deal with street parking. Inside it was a bit loud, but we were seated quickly (they have a very easily accessible online wait-list via their website, which is a great feature). Decor wasn’t bad either.
Our server seemed to be doing the job of 2 people, but was very efficient. Drinks were good, particularly the seasonal Dunkel.
The problem stated with the food. I got the beef stuffed poblano (pictured) and my wife a hamburger and fries. Appearance wise they looked great. On the plus side, the seasoning was spot on for everything. I enjoyed my dish and finished it quickly, however it didn’t take me long to realize the layers of sauces were hiding the fact that there was very little beef in the poblano. Maybe 2 bites worth altogether. Honestly, it would have been a good dish even without the beef, but it felt like a bit of a switch from what was advertised.
The bigger issue was my wife’s order – the burger itself was a pretty solid burger, well seasoned and cooked. However the fries were absolutely terrible. In general, I’m a sucker for sidewinder fries – when done well they have the crispy seasoned exterior of a curly fry, with the interior of a steak fry. These had none of that. To start they were barely luke warm to the touch. Things got worse upon attempting to eat them. Both ends were incredibly hard rather than crisp and the center was just mealy. They clearly hadn’t been near a fryer in a long time. Overall impression was they had been sitting in a warming tray for an hour or 2. When I explained the issue to our waitress she was very apologetic and quickly offered to have a fresh batch delivered (no complaints on service). However….upon delivery of the new batch they were barely improved at all. Same issues, though at least slightly warmer overall. Absolutely zero chance they had been freshly made – unless they were using a microwave. Not wanting to make a scene and being done with the whole sorry affair, we ate the center of some of the less terrible ones before quietly paying and leaving.
It was particularly sad as the fries were also seasoned well, just a complete failure of cooking or serving fresh. And fried items are usually one of the more reliable items at most pub type places.
Overall we are unlikely to return.
Oatmeal stout – approved!
Smoked Salmon chowder – who makes this? I’ve never seen this on a menu until today and it was great. Everything that I could have good for!
Finished with nachos and the poke bowl.
I had the house made chorizo with the nachos… yum!
The service and the great open doorway with the gentle breeze – doesn’t get better than this.
Highly recommend a visit
