We were charged $33 for our 5-year-old child, which is the full adult buffet price. This was very surprising and honestly unreasonable. At most restaurants, children under 6 are either free or charged a minimal amount, and ages 6–12 are typically half price. Charging a preschooler full adult price — especially when he barely ate — does not feel fair.
As a family of five, dining out already adds up quickly. An unexpected charge like this makes a big difference and leaves a bad impression. What started as a pleasant iftar gathering ended with frustration at checkout.
We value spending quality time as a family, but policies like this make us think twice before choosing restaurants like Zaika BBQ in the future. I hope management considers revising their children’s pricing policy to be more reasonable and family-friendly
I recently visited Zaiqa BBQ & Grill, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. If you are looking for authentic flavors that hit home, this is the place to be.
The Food
The food didn’t just taste good; it took me right back to Pakistan. The authenticity is unmatched:
• Chicken 65 Curry: Perfectly spiced, tender, and packed with that signature zest. It’s a must-try for anyone who loves a bit of heat.
• Mix Chicken Grill Platter: The smoky, charred flavor of the grill was spot on. Every piece of chicken was juicy and seasoned to perfection.
• Naan: Fresh, fluffy, and the perfect companion to scoop up the curry and grilled meats.
The Service
Beyond the food, the customer service was awesome. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable meal.
It’s rare to find a place that balances such high-quality food with genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back
The star of the show: Mixed Grill platter…..tender chicken tikka, seekh kebabs, and lamb chops grilled to smoky perfection, served sizzling on a hot plate.
– Biryani had no salt or flavor, no raita.
– Lamb chop tray was empty, we were there for 1.5 hours and no one refilled it.
– Haleem was watery, no toppings to go with it.
– Appetizers were not eatable except for the samosas.
– Bathrooms were disgusting.
It felt like a free community iftaar for below poverty people.
I had high expectations for Pakistani cuisine, clearly this is not it.
I do not recommend anyone going here, trust me I wouldn’t waste time writing this if I didn’t mean it.
As this was our first time we were not familiar with the portion size so we ended up ordering quite a bit of food which we gladly took home. We loved the portion sizes, just know that one meal h can be shred between two people. Onto the food!
We ordered: 1) veggie samosas, 2) chicken mixed grill, 3) the goat curry, 4) vegetable biryani, 5) garlic naan, 6) onion naan, 7) chai tea, and 8) ras malai for dessert.
The veggie samosas were crispy on the outside and the filling was delicious with the right amount of spice and very little heat.
The chicken mixed grill came with a number of pieces of chicken cooked and sliced differently. Each offering was moist and not dry at all. Paired nicely with garlic and onion naan.
The goat curry was phenomenal! The spices were warm and tasty; however, know that this dish, although “mild”, does have some heat. Not a heat one feels in the mouth and it does not linger. The heat can be tampered down with the green cilantro-mint sauce. The goat was fall-off-the bone tender and the flavor was out of this world! This dish came with plain rice; however, the goat and sauce paired nicely with either naan.
The vegetable biryani was “mild”, yet like the goat curry did have some heat to it. Peas, carrots, and green beans were the mixed vegetables and although this rice was tasty it was not something we would order again.
The garlic and onion naan were thick, fluffy, soft and delicious. I could’ve eaten three or four of those bad boys; yet, I resisted as the other food was too darn good.
The chai teas were season well, hot, and not sweet as we like it. You can sweeten as needed.
Finally, the ras malai. First time I tried this dish and it was very tasty. Just the right amount of sweet, cream-to-spongy cake ratio. We ordered this to go and ate it once we got home. I’m hindsight we would’ve eaten it at the restaurant with the chai tea as that would have been a great combo.
Great atmosphere and the service we received from all of the staff was excellent! One of the things we appreciated about the staff was once our food came they left us alone to enjoy and we’re not constantly checking on us like in some restaurants.
This is a definite return place for us!
