Surf’s Up Grill & Bar was the perfect laid-back beach stop. We grabbed a couple seafood baskets and everything hit the spot the shrimp were well seasoned with a fresh lemon wedge, and the fried bites were crispy and not greasy at all. Loved that they gave plenty of dipping sauces (butter/cocktail/tartar), which made it easy to mix it up.
The drink was great too (spicy rim, super refreshing), and the daily specials board had some tempting options the fried flounder on a brioche bun sounded awesome and the prices felt reasonable for a beach spot.
Chill vibe, casual outdoor seating, and solid seafood. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in Emerald Isle.

Eventhough my sis and I were the only minority there. We felt very welcomed. We are both prior service US Army and we are use to these situations. The food was deliocious and the bathroom was clean and the customer service was excellent.
This was the first beach I went to. I was pregnant with my son almost 25 years ago. The view of the beach was as I remembered breath taken.

Great food! Possibly the best fried shrimp we have ever had! They were extremely busy when we dined in on a Sunday night. Wait time was about 30-40 minutes not bad and they accommodated our family of 6 just fine.

So when we checked in they said there was a 30 minute wait for a table for 5 people. The thing is the table I was looking at was empty, cleaned, and it could seat 9 people and we’re currently sat at this table. Our server took a long time to come. It was his first day on the floor but violet was good. The food was good but when you order lettuce you get 3 strips, also for the sandwich it was toasted on one side and it wasn’t toasted on the inside.

My husband and I ate here last night for date night. I have been in a couple times to grab an appetizer with friends after being on the beach but this was my first full meal. It was crowded and a little busy so we sat at the bar. It took a little while to get our food ordered since we were at the bar but everything was delicious. We both got an appetizer and a entree and we had plenty to eat and then some. We then went to sunset slush for dessert. The only thing I would suggest is possibly allowing a 3-hour parking time instead of two as we barely made it out under our two hour limit.

This is my second time in. My food was much better this time. The ahi tuna and rice was wonderful. My friend got shrimp tacos and she loved it too.

This was a great place to eat. You can sit by the window or outside on the patio with views of the Ocean and pier. I really enjoyed my grilled chicken dinner .Amanda was our waitress she was very friendly and attentive. I absolutely adored her hospitality.

One of our island favorites. After dining, we love walking out in the pier. The service is always good and the food is delicious. I love the island vibes of this restaurant.
This trip, we got the Beef Nachos n Cheese and the Hushpuppies appetizers.
I always get the Shrimp Basket which is so tasty. The cocktail sauce has a slight kick, but so good. I’m very picky about my slaw and this passes my expectations.
My husband gets the 1lb peel n eat shrimp every year. He says it is cooked just right.
Highly recommend you adding Surfs Up to your dining list.

Amazing. The food was on point. The service even better. The view and the ability to share a real bar and the ocean at the same time. Amazing, year round food, drinks and service. A must see and stop for a great time. This is year round.

This is a great place with awesome views! The food here is fresh, great tasting, and served the way you want it. The tuna was fantastic and all the fried foods were light tasting, not too heavy on the oil, and the cole slaw was spot on. Our server was great. Only reason 8 have service 4 stars was it took a while to get drinks (from the bar). We’ll be back for sure!
