Nothing about this place was reminicent of a NY slice! Only good thing about the place was the “good ice”, need I say more? I know this spot has been around for years, and from what i remember, used to be great, but with all the other choices on the market today, they need to step up their game, especially in service! “Miss thiss”, super disapointed.
Having lived in New York (Brooklyn) for an extensive period of time, I can say with confidence that this place is far from authentic NY pizza or even the lower end of it. The 18″ “thin crust” I ordered could easily qualify as Chicago style it was thick, super doughy, and slightly undercooked. Honestly, it reminded me more of a major frozen brand than anything freshly made.
With food prices climbing higher every day, sometimes after a 16-hour shift I just want to come home to a nice treat. Something comforting, familiar, and worth the small splurge. Instead, I ended up disappointed, wishing I’d just made something simple at home. For a place calling itself New York Pizza Department, I expected a lot more authenticity and care. Especially for the 44 bucks spent.
Is it really so difficult to ask for quality and honesty?
On another note. Although the location is only about three miles away, my order arrived by bicycle cold. The delivery courier was kind and polite, but the delivery took far longer than it should have, in my opinion.
…..at least the ranch dressing was acceptable.
Tip: the family salad is the exact same size as the personal salad but is 3 dollars more
We had the Manhattan and it was good, quality-ish ingredients; but came together well.
Not bad, not great; pizza is clearly what they are good at, not service or over all experience.
