We didn’t have a reservation and just walked in — luckily, they still had the last table available for us. We ordered the Premium Seafood Platter, which included 500 g of lobster, four scallops, and some prawns, and we also got a pan-seared duck breast. The platter cost €120 for two people, and when it arrived, the portion size was shocking — the mussels came in a huge dish, much more than I expected. The scallops were incredibly springy and sweet, and the mussels were the same. The lobster and prawns were okay but slightly over-seasoned with too much pepper.

For the pan-seared duck breast, the staff were very thoughtful and cut it in half for us to share — one portion each. It was delicious. We had ordered it medium, and the meat was still pink and tender. When slicing, the skin stayed attached perfectly — absolutely excellent.

We also ordered two glasses of mocktails, but they weren’t particularly great. We asked for still water when placing our order, but it still hadn’t been served by the time we finished. Aside from these two minor points, everything else was excellent.

Exceptional meal.
The service was exemplary so friendly, greeted like we were regular customers.
The food was unbelievably fantastic. My biggest problem was making a choice. My FritoMisto was to die for, best I’ve ever had.
The guidance on the wine was superb, looking for a Soave for my courses Dylan helped me out with the wine on the specials board.
Loved the busy social fun atmosphere with no overt music noise which in many places ruins the enjoyment of a meal.
Everyone went above and beyond to ensure a great experience thank you to Tristram and the wonderful Terese for that too.

It was almost 9 years that i was not going to eat at Palazzo Preca but this year Xmas corporate event had been held at this venue.

Since passing the front door the staff is very polite and caring to the the guests.

We were given the inner room for the privacy and since the beginning the atmosphere was perfect.

The festive Xmas Corporate menu is very good with a lot of choices to go through.

Personally I opted for, as a starter, the Ravioli filled with swordfish, zucchini, pine nuts and raisins; the flavours were well balanced and mixed.

As a main course I went for the Duck breast with fig jus and Swede barley; the breast asked at Medium cooking temperature, was simply delicious; every cut was melting in the mouth and on the tongue and the fig juice and the swedish barley were a perfect pair and match.

To finish and complete the dinner, as dessert, i asked for the creme brullé that was delicious and well balanced.

Overall a very great culinary experience.

Dining at Palazzo Preca was an absolute delight from start to finish. The restaurant combines a warm, elegant atmosphere with impeccable service, making the whole experience feel special and memorable.

The food was simply outstanding. The spaghetti carbonara was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced authentic and made with high quality ingredients that elevated this classic dish. The beef Fillet a la Ramona was wow , served tender over smooth mashed potatoes with a rich sauce, was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The side dishes, from the crispy golden potatoes to the fresh seasonal vegetables, complemented the mains beautifully.

What really stood out was the attention to detail every plate was not only delicious but beautifully presented, showing the care and passion that goes into the cooking.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Valletta, Palazzo Preca is a must. Exceptional food, attentive service, and a truly charming setting make it one of the city’s best restaurants. Highly recommended!

The service in Palazzo Preca deserves 6 stars. I was well looked after and advised about portion size etc. I loved the wild mushroom soup. The seafood risotto was salty and when I was asked whether it was ok, gave an honest comment. Straight away the dish was whisked off and replaced later with something less salty. The lemon meringue tart was lovely.

Had the best experience here on a trip to Valletta. The staff were so welcoming & super helpful when deciding what to eat. They brought out the fresh fish to show us what we would be eating which was a nice touch! The restaurant itself is beautiful & full of character. The food was incredible & very reasonably priced! The seafood platter (one of the specials on offer) was the highlight for me, everything was full of flavour & cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area!

Decent food but not cheap. Asked for a glass of wine and it cost +5€ more than my sister’s gintonic! 13€ for a glass of wine! A bit abusive. I also think we maybe didn’t order their best dishes. However.. the oysters were the best I’ve ever tasted and I have eaten a lot of oysters over the last 40 years.
