I’m a guy looking for a decent meal and a drink. I come in and the interior is empty of customers, I ask if the kitchen is still open and it is – Great! Ask for seating and I’m offered an external area (because its heated), in the middle of winter… no, I’d like internal seating please. They accommodate. Ask for a menu of the drinks… it’s all barcoded, no physical copies of what drinks are available…. told the menu changes often and it’s hard to keep up… I ask if there is anything on tap and was told it’s all outdoors on the heated area. Okay, I’ll go check it out. I was lead out doors by the greeter for the taps… absolutely nothing recognizable. Ask if they have ciders, told it’s all in can. I was given a taste of one of my choices and picked randomly amongst the tap. Got a taste, and its IPA/Hop loaded beer. Great… no choices whatever since I can’t name any of them. The unknown beer it is. Order a classic Ruben on rye – saurkraut and dressing listed and here I am thinking it’s on the side. Nope. Just a Ruben and nothing else, sliced into 4 parts. I have to order a soup just to make it a decent meal. If you are looking to be posh with your date, go ahead and come here… if you want a decent restaurant/bar experience you’d be better off somewhere else. Not for families or first dates (imo).

Sat in the outdoor patio area, with another party that had a dog. It was a little cool, so the heater was on. The service was excellent, food was delicious.

Nestled in the heart of Geneva, Illinois, Reservations Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience that pleasantly surprised me during my recent visit.
After indulging in a relaxing massage nearby, I stumbled upon this gem, intrigued by its popularity and stellar online reputation. Stepping inside, I was immediately captivated by the cool, open-air concept and the soulful tunes of a talented live singer, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.
The menu, boasting an array of small plates, promised a culinary adventure, and it certainly delivered. We kicked off our meal with the lamb skewers and the intriguing combination of Asparagus and Lemon Whipped Ricotta on Apple Slices. While the latter bordered on dessert-like, its presentation was impeccable. The lamb skewers, however, stole the spotlight with their robust flavors and succulent texture, leaving us craving for more.
Eager to explore further, we dove into additional appetizers, opting for the Spanish Garlic Shrimp and the beef skewers. Although the beef skewers were slightly overshadowed by the potent mustard, they still offered a burst of flavor that tantalized the taste buds. However, it was the Spanish Garlic Shrimp that emerged as the undisputed star of the show, perfectly marrying garlic-infused goodness with tender shrimp, creating a symphony of flavors that lingered long after the last bite.
Overall, Reservations Restaurant proved to be a delightful culinary haven, blending inventive small plates with a vibrant ambiance and top-notch live entertainment. While there were minor hiccups along the way, the overall experience left a lasting impression, making it a destination worth revisiting. Whether you’re seeking a casual night out or a special occasion celebration, Reservations Restaurant promises to satisfy your cravings and ignite your senses.

Food was absolutely delicious. There is a wide variety of options and is best shared with friends so that you can enjoy the diversity of flavors. The staff was very friendly and helpful in making our choices. The meal was long but by design. Perfect for a night out with friends to catch up. Live music on the outside patio for those who enjoy eating outside, which I do not but the inside was comfortable.

One of the best go-to places for foodies in Geneva. They specialize in small dishes that you share and the flavors are usually over the top good. Summer time? You have to do the Quinoa Watermelon salad. Even if it doesn’t sound like your jam, it is to die for. Long time favorites are always the Korean Pork Belly Tacos and the lettuce wraps. I have never had a bad dish here. The drinks are really good, although I wish they were a bit bigger. Probably the best part is the vibe. They built the outdoor seating a few years back and it is amazing to be there in the summer. It’s covered too so rain or shine. Heater help with the cold. Don’t try parking on the street, go behind the place or the parking garage next door, both free.

My husband and I ate at Preservation a few days before Christmas and what a mistake! On the upside, the food was decent. But, the place is filthy and needs to be scrubbed. My nightmare: I got 2 cold sores from drinking out of the water glass – OMG! They popped out on my lip on my way out the door after lunch. I had to go to the doctor for treatment. I never get cold sores! I should have know better. The place has a musty smell and overall needs a facelift. It was also pretty cold inside; we ate with our coats on.The servers try their best but given the layout it’s not easy to navigate. Don’t let the Geneva location fool you – pass on Preservation.

We had a great time at Preservation! Iris P. was our server and she was fantastic—attentive, pleasant, and never forgot about us even though we were seated in the corner. The Strawberry Bourbon Buck cocktail was excellent. While we didn’t eat on this visit, we have in the past, and the food is always outstanding—gourmet comfort food done right. Highly recommend the Grilled Sourdough Smoked Turkey Sammie!

Sloppy. When you see multiple people working and nobody acknowledges your table for almost 10 minutes, it becomes disappointing. We got our waters and still wanted to give it a chance considering we heard the French onion soup was good. The entire time we had no idea who our server was. Each one of the workers there came by to ask us the same set of questions so I don’t think there’s much communication between staff in terms of who’s section is who’s. The soup we were recommended was mediocre. The Reuben cut into 4 pieces was basic, kinda skimpy. Outside seating under heat lamps was weird. First and last time probably.

Birthday lunch at Preservation was a wonderful gift from my husband. First time here.
My tastebuds were exploding with happiness at each byte of the ASPARAGUS AND LEMON WHIPPED RICOTTA ON APPLE SLICES.
Each bite of the WILD MUSHROOM TART was exquisite. SHRIMP & CHEESE GRITS classic Southern and delicious.
Preservation has become one of my favorites in the western burbs.
Oh, and the old fashion was a good balance between sweetness, bourbon, and bitters, good mixology.
