The wait time was well worth it. The food was awesome! Best burger that big I have ever enjoyed. The service was top notch and they even had a gift shop that you could purchase some hand made items.

Awesome little “hole in the wall” burger joint in a small town. Food was amazing, service was even better. One of the highlights of our visit was meeting a very kind Native American artisan who was selling handmade Indigenous cultural items. Having grown up in Arizona, I’ve always had a deep respect for Native culture and heritage. On a previous trip through the Painted Desert, I purchased a dreamcatcher and a hand-carved chess set made from petrified coral created by Hopi children from the reservation. This time, I was honored to purchase another beautiful dreamcatcher and a handcrafted bone tomahawk made from a buffalo jaw. It meant a lot to support authentic Native craftsmanship and traditions. If you in the Lawton area i highly recommend it and right after head up to Mt. Scott. Its a 10 mins drive from there where you can enjoy beautiful scenic vistas from 2800 feet.

I really like how old school it is in the restaurant. That’s the neat part about it. The history.
The burgers are decent. Nothing special, but decent. It was cooked just right. But it lacks seasoning
The cobbler is super delicious. It’s even better with ice cream.
It’s a good place to get a hearty meal after hiking or walking medicine park.
Definitely still worth the visit despite how bland it kinda is.
The atmosphere is very calm and the staff is very welcoming.
Don’t forget to tip your waitress!

Great hamburger/diner food. I enjoyed the 16 oz cheeseburger with all the toppings, and fries. Ate it all. Delicious after a morning of hiking. Only downside is it’s cash only. There’s an ATM available.

We go once a year in July so other reviews may offer a more updated experience. Food is average. Their menu has shrunk over the years. In the past they had homemade ice cream and honestly it was the reason to go there. The peach cobbler with the homemade ice cream was the best thing on the menu. Texas toothpicks were also amazing, but since the shrink of the menu things have changed. The ice cream machine broke and they are having issues getting the part to repair it so your ice cream is now regular store bought ice cream. It is still good, but it isn’t anywhere near as good as the homemade stuff.
Most of the tables typically seat 3-4 people. So if you go with a group you can sit in the same general area, but not all at the same table.
Checks are made per table not per person and it is CASH ONLY. They do have an ATM on site.
Know these things going into it and you’ll have a great experience.

As much as I love this place, quality seems to be seasonal. I’ve noticed that in warmer months, go some reason the food tends to be better. Also when I visited in winter there seemed to be no working heat which I found odd. However the cobbler is amazing year round and all in all I’ll still visit when I’m in the area.

where do i start? The burger is at best a 6 out of 10..they use no seasoning at all..its a shame because it could have been so much better..its not bad but its not even close to being great..if you are in the area you really have no other choice but this place..its a good experience just seeing it but dont expect a great burger. Do not believe these 5 star reviews..theyve never had a great burger.

We got the chicken fried steak sandwich, seen here. It completely filled both of us up. The place was PACKED. We had to wait in line for about 40 minutes but once seated it went smoothly. Definitely recommend for everyone to try.

If you’re a burger lover, this place is an absolute must-visit. The burgers are outstanding—massive, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portion sizes alone are enough to bring your appetite, but the taste is what truly seals the deal.
The ambiance is like stepping back in time, with a retro vibe that’s both charming and unique. It feels like a hidden gem frozen in a cooler, simpler era.
The service? Top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home.
One thing to note—this spot is cash-only, so come prepared. Trust me, it’s worth every penny. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re seriously missing out. Bring your appetite and get ready for one of the tastiest burger experiences around!
