First discovered Gambino’s decades ago while living in LA. They were presented to me by friends as having the best king cakes around. I tried quite a few over the years but theirs remain my favorite. When I can’t get there to buy them in person…I order. Their website is friendly, choices are great, and delivery is lightening fast. I live in Alabama now and the delivery was great. UPS left the box on its side and one of the cakes was a bit damaged, but easily repaired and disguised with the enclosed decoration packets. Oh-and their prices are very reasonable. I have everyone in my office hooked on their moist, rich beautifully filled cakes. It’s a great idea to treat your friends or office to a taste of Mardi Gras. I love using the enclosed frosting and colored sugar sprinkles to personalize my own cake.

Ordered for the first time this year. I live in SC, the shipping was fast, the cake was fresh! At first I ordered the original King Cake, my family devoured it and I quickly had to order more. We tried the Strawberry and cream as well as the Bavarian one. Finding the baby has become our family’s new obsession. Will definitely order again soon! We want to try all flavors

I’ve had a king cake shipped from Gambino’s to Staten Island, NY for the last few years. Crazy? Maybe, but its worth it! My cakes arrive well packed and fresh, and my family loves being part of the Mardi Gras tradition. Gambino’s has excellent customer service as well!

Highly recommended. We live out of state and for the past few years we have had Gambino’s ship a King Cake for our Mardi Gras party. The cakes arrive just as fresh as the ones we have eaten in New Orleans. All you have to do is apply the icing and decorating sugar (supplied) and you are ready to serve your King Cake!

I tried reaching out to the bakery with no response. There is absolutely NOTHING upscale about this bakery. Don’t let them fool you!
It was recommended to order my daughter’s birthday cake from this bakery. I was very hesitant to order because of the shipping. I read numerous reviews from other customers stating they had no issues with receiving their cakes in one whole piece. My daughter’s only birthday request was to have a King cake. I tried to order somewhere local but she insisted she wanted it to be authentic and from New Orleans. I paid $120 for a smelly, SPOILED praline king cake and completely demolished cream cheese cake. I knew when I ordered these cakes there would need to be some sort of assembly required by spreading the frosting and sprinkles on the cake but I didn’t know I would have an IKEA King cake delivered where I had to completely assemble the ENTIRE CAKE.
Needless to say, my daughter’s only request were these cakes, and all I received were tears of heartache when she opened the boxes to this horrible smelly sight.
There was no possible way we could share these cakes with our guests.

We used Gambino’s for our wedding cake & grooms cake because my mother has used them for her wedding cake years and years ago, so we had high hopes. But we were left EXTREMELY disappointed. First of all, we were told a week prior to the wedding that the cakes would be delivered between 1-3PM (our ceremony began at 4:30PM). So we were shocked when they arrived with the cakes at 9:30 AM on our wedding day. Ontop of that, the quality was SO poor that it left myself (bride) and the rest of the bridal party shocked. It looked like a 12 year old did the groom’s cake, and like not much effort was put into the wedding cake either. It was so bad, our coordinator had to get them to send another groom’s cake. The worst part about it is the design we chose for the groom’s cake was picked from THEIR book of designs. It was literally a design that they had done before. The colors on the wedding cake did NOT match the color palette I gave them at all, but they insisted those were the colors that we gave them. I actually accidentally stuck my finger in the wedding cake when we were trying to move it, and you literally couldn’t even tell. I don’t know what the problem is, if someone was having a bad day or what, but Gambino’s needs to do better.

I ordered a 3 pack of king cakes for a 2 day shipping to Michigan those arrived great however one of those cakes was not what I ordered reached out to them they corrected their mistake and sent me a new cake. However they sent that cake on a Friday to arrive on Monday (today 2/16) that is not 2 day shipping also the cake is not going to be any good. It arrives today (2/16) and it is destroyed in the box, as well as warm and not safe to eat.

We are native New Orleanians living in Florida. We miss home and Margi Gras king cake. Our friend ordered a cream cheese King Cake. We couldn’t wait! Gambinos has ALWAYS been the BEST in town. What we received was a cake that was clearly dropped and just put in the box (see pic). COME ON Y’ALL!!!

Gambino’s Bakery holds a special place in my heart. Being far away from Louisiana due to military life and beyond, it means so much to still have a piece of home with me. King Cake has always been an important tradition in my life, and being able to share that tradition with my kids now is truly a blessing.
Thanks to Gambino’s ability to ship their cakes everywhere, distance doesn’t take away the joy of Mardi Gras season in our family.
