My husband and I recently went here for the first time. We were disappointed with the flavor of the food,, but the quantity of food was plentiful and we would give that a five 5️⃣. I ordered the turkey, which was nice and moist, and I would give that a 3 1/2 or four 4️⃣, but my other sides weren’t as desirable. I actually ordered two coleslaws as I was told they served a sweet coleslaw, but they tasted like globs of mayonnaise to me when I tried to eat it. I actually sent one of them back and asked for something else. I did get the corn on the cob and it was OK, it was very average. It was definitely edible. They brought me the mashed potatoes which I didn’t want, but they had a decent flavor. There was a large portion of it and that side was good sized too. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer and with ketchup, we really liked those the best. We would give those a four 4️⃣. We were not too keen on the because it had a garlic seasoning on it (or tasted like it) and we just weren’t expecting that with BBQ. But had it been a regular warm bread, it would have been wonderful. My husband had ribs, pulled pork, and smoked sausage and he would give it a two 2️⃣. He said it seemed to be overcooked and somewhat mushy with a bit of an odd flavor. His macaroni and cheese was his favorite side and he enjoyed it.

Our waitress was nice and accommodating.

Overall, we would give our experience there a two 2️⃣ and we don’t think we’d ever choose to go there again.

We hosted a double 50th wedding anniversary for our families (married 1 day apart!) Once I found out about Shady Oak BBQ I gave them a call to set everything up. The GM, Andrew, was super friendly and very helpful along the way. We live in Germany and finalizing the details from far away was seamless. He sent us pictures and helped us decide what was best for our event. We were able to bring our own desserts and decorate the room. The guests had a great time and raved about the food. Our waitress worked really hard and was so sweet. We left the event very pleased with our experience. Thank you again Shady Oak and staff for a memorable event!

Went to Shady Oaks for lunch with coworkers and was pleasantly surprised! Not only was the waitress the fastest waitress in the west, but she was super friendly and welcoming. The bread is massive, and if you have a group, you have to go through cutting it, which is new to me. I do wish they were more personal sized. The food was delicious, though. I’ll definitely be back!

Tommy Money let us hold a small engagement party here and went above and beyond! We were able to get a secluded section of the establishment just for us to celebrate our friends.

Food was great, service was better, and we were able to make a lasting memory! 10/10 would recommend!

First time at Shady Oak. Amazing service experience and great food. The server and the young man that brought out our food provided “Legendary” guest service. I was thoroughly impressed. Our waitress was kind and quick. The man that brought our food out noticed that out mac and cheese looked a bit dry and took it upon himself to bring out fresh sides. The bread was another surprise. Couldnt stop eating it. We ordered three meat plates and it was worth it to try the different meats. We will be back soon! Great job, Shady Oak!

We found ourselves in this side of town yesterday while we were out garage selling and decided to give this place a try. The atmosphere of the building and its surroundings are unique to the restaurant world.

We chose to eat outside so our Bully Buddy could join us for lunch on the outside covered patio. Other than having to fight off the aggressive flies, it was a nice day. Suggestion for the owners, maybe put some peppermint spray diffusers around your patio seating to reduce the fly problem.

Taylor picked the combo meat plate with lean brisket and original sausage. It came with corn on the cob and he picked fries and cinnamon baked apples to go with it. On the recommendation of our server, I picked the fried catfish. It came with fries and I chose the okra and mac and cheese.

They bring you freshly made bread rolls that are as big as your hand, delicious and hot.

The cook was heavy handed with the seasoning on the fries and the brisket was really dry. Next time we should probably order the moist cut of brisket instead of the lean cut. The bbq sauce was nicely flavored too. The catfish was steaming hot and very good. Our dog Buddy gave it a five bubble review for sure. Definitely a place worth checking out.

This was my first time eating here and I decided to try it for lunch. I ordered the Beef Lunch Special for $16.95 (sliced beef brisket and 2 sides – I chose potato salad and fried okra) and an iced tea ($3.45). The sides were definitely the star of the meal and I really enjoyed them. The brisket however, was some of the driest I’ve ever had. In my opinion a good brisket shouldn’t need sauce. I kept adding sauce hoping it would absorb into the food. The building and atmosphere is really pretty cool. Service was slower than I expected taking about 20 minutes (I was just thinking a lunch special would come out more quickly). It didn’t appear extremely busy – but it’s very possible they had multiple areas for dining or maybe some larger groups. Maybe I just caught everything on a bad day?
