First: I HATE when establishments charge the customer 3% SURCHARGE fees for using our cards ESPECIALLY OUR DEBIT CARDS. In actuality I think this is against the law but they are doing it.

Second: parking is horrible!

Our first time here. We came here because of TikTok reviews said this was better than Bobbie’s southern, well it’s not. (Two completely different restaurants)

It was lunchtime so it was busy & loud but we got seated fast.
We were confused with who our waitress was because she never came back to give us refills. Only to give us the check.
My son said burger was good.
The pollock was good after you put salt and lemon. It had no flavor unless you added it.
It was ok but not all the hype that TikTok made it out to be.

Also, the 3% SURCHARGE they charge to the customers for using debit/credit cards to force you to pay with cash (which most people don’t carry) is a turn off.

Service was impeccable, our waitress was very attentive and took great care of our group. The food was hot and fresh and delishious, everyone ordered different things from around the menu and everyone evjoyed their meals. Prices are very reasonable too.

Country Fried Steak plate (breakfast) was great! The breading ratio was good and the flavor was absolutely there. Only complaint would be the over medium eggs were runny for me.. Will definitely be back, I’ll just get scrambled eggs next time

This place has all the right ingredients and portions but the FLAVOR just wasn’t there, which was a little disappointing because my plate looks amazing! The service is quick and friendly, the atmosphere is “hole in the wall” . I can only comment on my cod platter, which I wish was beer battered instead of battered in cornmeal because cod isn’t a southern fish. The batter could’ve also used some seasoning, it was so bland! No salt, lemon pepper, anything! Lack luster. The shrimp was good, larger than expected. The onion rings are also very big, but we must’ve gotten an old batch because they were a little cold and tasted like grease. I won’t be going back, unless I take my own seasonings with me. Not worth the $20 for this plate.

UPDATE… Ok. Finally had the club sandwich and substituted onion rings because well you have to. They’re really good. Not throwing shade at the fries. Just telling you the onion rings are great. This friend I was with had the chicken fried steak. It was more than they could handle and had to take half home. Of course I snuck a bite LOL. I might have to have that next time. And that banana pudding with the wafers in it keeps calling my name at the counter. Perhaps one day I’ll answer lol.

UPDATE…
Food and service still rocking. This friend and I had breakfast. It’s my first breakfast here. In the long line of many future breakfasts! There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. Aside from having plate envy again LOL. I had the biscuit as a side but someone at the table next to me had asked them to cut the biscuit open and grill it. I will definitely have that next time. The Omelette was incredible, fluffy and delicious. My friend had the French toast and was a bit surprised when they had four pieces, especially since this was just an add-on to the plate. And if you like bacon, and who doesn’t, this is my favorite kind of bacon. Thick and crispy. Had to also try the carne guisada taco. You know I love the true brown gravy. This was my mom’s carne guisada. I wanted more!!!Everything was excellent! Ok, sad but, I still need to try the enchilada plate lol

Why? Oh why haven’t I been here before? Went with a few friends when one of them suggested it. I will definitely stay friends with them lol. What a jewel of a restaurant. Great food. Great portions. Unfortunately, great plate envy when I saw other food go by LOL. It’s funny because all three of us were doing it. We would say “oh look there goes the enchilada plate”, “Hey check out the fish plate”. We’re going to have to go back at least four times to get one of everything we wanted. Our waitress was incredibly kind. She had a kind smile and was very patient considering how fast and hard she was working. If you’ve never been to Sherry’s Texan Seafood, you might as well put your phone down. Put your shoes on. Get in the car and get over there now. One of my friends is what I call an onion ring aficionado. They actually said they would be happy just coming there for the onion rings. I dared them LOL. They said this was one of the best burgers they ever had. They raved about how thick and juicy the meat was. None of us expected the burger to be so good here but damn it was! Everything was excellent. Will be back soon.

Food was not worth the price. Had enchiladas with chaulp, taco ,beans and didn’t get the rice. I don’t know if it came with tortillas. If it did didn’t get any. Also had the Texan fish it really suck. Pieces were small came with 3 onion rings, Texas toast and red potatoes. Also a small salad. Paid 34.00. Don’t waste your money

We did takeout for lunch from here today. We ordered Liver and Onions, Fried Cod and Fried Shrimp platter, side salads and Chicken Tenders with fries. The salads were good. The Fried Cod was not seasoned. The liver was over cooked and too rubbery to eat. The Fried Shrimp were overcooked. We may try this restaurant again and eat-in that time to see if there is a difference in flavor of food.

Visited Sherry’s Texan for the first time and had a great experience! We tried a little of everything from nachos to seafood to hamburgers! The services was very friendly and accommodating. Everything we tried was very tasty and a huge portion! The restaurant was very busy but the wait time was normal and you can tell the wait staff hustles. Be aware that the parking lot is small so plan ahead and go early. Again great place to visit in San Antonio! I feel like we are losing places like this and need to support these small businesses to keep things local and unique!

Came in for breakfast and had to try the Louie Breakfast Special Biscuit, their famous chicken fried chicken, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, cheese, and country sausage gravy all on one plate! Everything was delicious, the service was fantastic, and it came out fast. Definitely worth it!

Went with my family, husband and 2 kiddos. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Service was friendly, and it just felt homey. We ordered a seafood plate, chicken sandwich, kids burger and fries and chicken fried steak. For $60 we fed the family and went home with leftovers. Portion sizes were great.
