I had a cobb salad; it was average.
Maybe if they actually grilled the chicken, instead of pre-made, cold, cut up, with no flavor, packaged chicken, then it would have been good. Also, homemade blue cheese dressing is better than bottled. It’s not hard to make. All good restaurants should make their own dressing.
My husband had the prime rib with enchiladas on the side. He said it tasted good but was a little tough. He said he couldn’t taste the aging of the steak, though.
Service was impeccable.
Atmosphere was delightful.
Margarita was amazing.

Absolutely phenomenal meal at this long established restaurant. In my opinion, it lives up to its billing as the best steakhouse in the state of New Mexico. Gorgeous, opulent turn of the century (1900) decor surrounds you as you are perusing the menu loaded with lovely items. Superior steak, lobster and Duck preparation excited and satisfied our table. Daniel far exceeded the abilities of most servers in his position. Awesome, well educated young man with an interesting, exciting future before him. Don’t forget to get a piece of the Lemon Berry cake, promise. I highly recommend we’ll return! ….to Daniel, please remember, “Thinking is difficult, that is why people judge” said Carl Jung. Hoo Rah

Road weary at Las Cruces, tired of typical options… our hotel gave 3 options… I went with the steakhouse… we located it on a street near the church in La Mesilla. What a pleasant Suprise! The food was delicious, ( my elderly father cleared his plate as did my mother and my self), the decor evocative of another time, and the Service was professionally kind and personable. Thank you, ma’am.

Staff were very friendly. The experience overall was pretty good. Having your dishes cooked table side was cool and I really liked the food. I will definitely be going back. The atmosphere is very cool, I love the inside of the building.

Very disappointed! We waited over 45 minutes for overcooked cod from the fish and chips I ordered, only the plate was hot. My kid ordered fish tacos (2) it was a little strip of unseasoned battered dry fish on a cold tortilla bad seasoning. The rice and bean sides were flavorless mush. The food has lost it’s luster unfortunately. The waitress was nice and apologetic for the food taking so long. Frankly all the waitresses were all looking stessed and noticed several of them apologized to their tables for different reasons.Pecan bourbon pie was a small cold ordinary small slice with a side of whip cream, no bourbon at all. I prefer Sam’s pecan pie over this any day. Kid had banana enchiladas, crepe was undercooked and bananas were rubbery. I only posted dessert pictures because I did not expect the food to be so bad. Me and my family do not recommend and hope they get their kitchen in shape in the near future.

The atmosphere is stunning. Old House charm with lights and decor. They tried to seat us in the side dining room with no one else there, kinda weird knowing we had reservations and could have a table in the main dining room with other patrons. Good it self was good, but not spectacular.

The wedding we held at the Double Eagle in Old Mesilla was absolutely phenomenal. The venue is historic, timeless, and unique. Our guests were ‘wowed’ by the ornate bar, palm court, formal dining room, decor, and art. The food was outstanding–everything was beautifully served, hot, and delicious.
Shoutout to Amy Lavender, who planned and managed our event. Amy, you did an awesome job and kept us organized, told us what we needed to consider, and guided us through every detail. AND you’re very fun to work with!
I’d advise anyone looking for a special wedding venue to give Amy a call at the Double Eagle. We have many happy memories of the event and appreciate everything the staff did to create such a magical evening!

Beautiful tropical feeling in the desert. We loved the restaurant and the food! Lunch vibes and casual dining. We enjoyed our chile rellenos, filled with delicious cheese mixture and the outside was so crunchy and yummy. Chips and salsa We delicious, salsa homemade and with a hint of spice. Would definitely cone back.
