I was referred to Daimaru Japanese Steakhouse by a coworker, and I’m extremely glad I took their recommendation. From start to finish, everything was phenomenal. I ordered the salmon hibachi dinner, the Torch sushi roll, the Panang Curry, and hands down the best pho I’ve ever had. Every dish was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive — special shoutout to Macey, Morrigan, and the rest of the team for making the experience even better. The service truly matched the quality of the food.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Jason, the owner, who personally welcomed me. You can tell he’s extremely passionate about his food and genuinely cares about the dining experience he provides.
Highly recommended — I will definitely be back!

Service at Daimaru in Salina was stellar. friendly, fast. Honestly, it carried the meal. The hibachi itself was fine, but portions were a little small. The fried noodles were a miss. undercooked and totally lacking flavor. On the bright side, the mustard sauce was a standout, adding a nice kick to everything else. Overall, an okay experience with great service that makes it worth a visit if you’re not too picky about the food.

I have mixed feelings about our experience at Daimaru. I enjoyed the sushi itself, however our service was lacking. We had to remind the waitress of a missing drink, some missing toppings that were requested. We never got the bowls you use for mixing sauce in. We weren’t given plates when the appetizers came out.
The food itself was good. But it felt like with every interaction with the waitress, we had to remind/request to get an item. HOWEVER. With all those interactions, the waitress was nice each time. Zero condescension or pettiness.

Food was good. Decent price. Chef was good. Other service was slow. Slow to get drink orders. Slow to bring check and cashout. Atmosphere was okay, nothing stood out, may have been a little dirty. The chair in the hallway was filthy! That was disgusting.

We got a table here because the hibachi grills had a wait. The sushi was not bad. I mean, we are in the middle of Kansas so you can’t expect anything incredible there lol. The hibachi grill food was very disappointing. Chicken was very dry and the steak was chewy, even though I got ribeye. Just tasted like cheap meat. Fried rice did not taste like any fried rice I had ever had before, and not in a good way. Veggies weren’t fully cooked. Idk, I don’t think I would come back.

Stopped in while passing through town, the food was fantastic, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was wonderful! Loved the vibes of the place. I dropped by during mid afternoon during a lull in customers so the waitress was super attentive and very friendly! Will definitely stop by again if I’m ever in town. Highly recommend the Beef Tataki!

The food was bland. I expected a better taste from a “best of the best” award-winning restaurant. We stopped at the restaurant late on a cold night around 7:45 P.M., as we traveled through Kansas. The hostess greeted us as we entered the front door. We were seated at the Hibachi grill after a short wait. The server was very attentive to the table setting and drinks. The cook came and cooked our food with entertainment. The chicken was cooked dry, and the rice would have been better if the restaurant had offered garlic butter for the fried rice. I was puzzled why the cook did not leave dipping sauce for the seafood and chicken. There was a lack of taste from the salt and pepper. Some seasoning was missing. The house dressing on the salad was about the best-tasting item.
