Our server Divisha was fantastic! She was prompt in checking in if we wanted something and explained everything she was bringing to the table with great details!!
Vatan focuses on Gujarati thalis, with thoughtful variations to accommodate different dietary needs. The concept is simple but executed extremely well. The staff are very attentive and take the time to explain each dish as it arrives, which adds to the enjoyment, especially if you’re new to Gujarati cuisine. Their warmth and hospitality truly stand out.
The meal begins with a generous selection of appetizers, and they are surprisingly filling. By the time the main thali arrives, you already feel satisfied. While the thali is technically unlimited, the appetizers alone could be a meal in themselves. Everything is served fresh, well-seasoned, and balanced — flavorful without being heavy.
When the main course arrives, it’s a colorful spread of traditional Gujarati dishes, each with its own distinct taste and texture. The variety is impressive, and the pacing of the meal allows you to enjoy each item without feeling rushed. Refills are offered readily, but honestly, the quantity and quality make it easy to reach your limit quickly.
Overall, Vatan offers something truly unique — a combination of authentic flavors, generous portions, and a setting that feels like a cultural journey. It’s perfect for anyone looking to experience regional Indian cuisine in a thoughtful, immersive way. Highly recommended if you want more than just a meal.
Big ganesh idol, Banyan tree, hand painted table, bg elephant in front. .
Vegetarian thali consists of 3 dinner meals appetizer, main entree and desserts.
Open 5.30 to 9.30pm
Food was typical Gujarati.
Staff was polite, excellent service, the price are around $58 with taxes are higher but you can try once as all you can eat. Difficult to find parking outside.
Recommended this restaurant.
The food was very tasty and took me back to motherland! I wish a little less oily in the vegetables and I wish the kadi was not sweet besides that simply awesome!
The pre fix is robust and well prepared. This style of food is inherently carbohydrate heavy, the menu even mentions something about not coming if you’re on a diet!
They serve all types of alcohol. The setting is really fun, it’s supposed to make you feel like you’re visiting the region.
An experience worth trying. Not your typical NYC restaurant.
