Social Profile:

Seattle’s oldest diner with a legendary dive bar. Known for stiff drinks and huge portions of homemade diner classics. Located in Lower Queen Anne’s Uptown neighborhood at 526 Queen Anne Ave N. Noted as one of Seattle’s best breakfast restaurants and dive bars, we’re open early for breakfast, lunch, dinner and open late night. Seattle’s best happy hour. We’re known for our great Philly Cheesesteaks, hamburgers, huge chicken fried steak, sandwiches, burgers, fish & chips and Pot Roast. And we’re famous for our small, dimly lit dive bar. We’ve been serving Queen Anne since 1930. In the shadow of the Space Needle and steps away from Seattle Center and the Climate Pledge Arena.

Long-running diner serving American comfort food and all-day breakfasts, with a dimly lit lounge.

Mecca Cafe is exactly what a classic diner should be – fun atmosphere, great service, and solid comfort food that delivers. Ordered the crab cake benedict which was generous and flavorful, plus a side of 2 eggs and toast to round things out. And of course, it’s not a true diner experience without a pot of hot black coffee served in those thick, classic diner mugs that keep it warm. The staff was friendly and attentive, the kind of place where you feel like a regular even on your first visit. If you’re looking for no-frills breakfast done right in Seattle, this is the spot – been around since 1930 and you can tell they know what they’re doing.

Good simple America style food. The diner is very eclectic filled with stickers and neon.
It is a little on the small side, so no big parties. And granted it was a Wednesday morning, service only had one person working.
We each (3) got something different, I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy with some fresh farm eggs.

On our quest to continue to find walkable eats Near the Mediterranean Inn and Climate Pledge arena… my husband stumbled upon their online menu. And with that we made the short walk ( easy enough to do with a cane ) and we made it to this self described dive bar / diner. In reading the menu I was like to many yummy options for me to decide. I finally narrowed it down to the mushroom Swiss burger and upgraded my sides to Jo Jo’s ( highly recommend- you get so many – also recommend pairing with their tartar sauce. ) my husband choice was of course a 10oz steak with mashed potatoes and corn. ( honestly the gravy looked pretty yummy I should I snuck a bite like he stole some of my Jo Jo’s) our server was awesome, I really wish I had gotten her name. Friendly, gave excellent menu recommendations. up for her

My wife and I love this place. Victoria is a vibe and Noel is sweet they’ll both take care of you while you’re there. Mecca cafe is an old school no frills cafe with good food! The house cut French fries fried in beef tallow are beyond amazing! They only cook with beef tallow or butter and that’s unheard of these days unless you’re spending an arm and leg. The happy hour specials are actually happy hour prices and on Tuesdays they have a $10 steak deal with the purchase of any drink. Yup, an 8oz steak with a side for just $10! This is our favorite place to eat when we’re in Seattle. I have a grain allergy and it can be so hard to find a place to eat, especially house cut fries. My personal favorite is the philly that’s made with shaved ribeye (no bun) and lots of fries. It’s like having philly cheese steak loaded french fries. The menu is extensive and almost everything is made in house. There’s a reason why they’ve been around since 1920! Thank you Mecca Cafe! We’ll see you soon ❤️

This is a great little place atmosphere is good. The menue is extended. The food was tasty and when you get to order the food came out quickly. The problem is they sit you down give you water and dont acknowledge you for 15 minutes. We watch 4 different groups come to door wait to be seated and left. They allowed people to just stand when seating was available.

Last night we got into town rather late and not many places were still serving food…that’s where Mecca Cafe comes to the rescue. It’s definitely not fancy, but it’s a great place for late night food and drinks.

I had their DeWitt breakfast and my SO ordered their Chicken Fried Steak breakfast (which he raved about and has finally agreed this can be one of our stops when we’re on the west side of the state).

I think they have some of the best scrambled eggs, which is really the reason I chose to go to this establishment.

I was so looking forward to dining here and I’m glad I have. I had lunch the first day I was here and breakfast the next morning. The corn beef hash is extraordinary. Services fairly friendly, depending on who your server is and the atmosphere is awesome. For lunch, I had the hot beef sandwich which not many people serve anymore. The mashed potatoes are homemade and so is the gravy. If you’re in Seattle check this out.
