Great spot for breakfast! Friendly folks and delicious food. The white / wheat bread is homemade and really really good! I had the gyro breakfast skillet and it was filling, tasty, and very reasonably priced. That and coffee was about $12. The coffee was hot and refills plenty. Good parking and right off the road.

We chose it because it had a full parking lot. We had the specials and they were delicious. The cream of cauliflower soup was surprisingly tasty and more filling than we expected. My grilled bacon and cheese was a lot to finish, but the flavors made it impossible to stop. Also, the French fries were as tasty as I’ve ever had. The liver was done to perfection, with copious onions for her taste buds. And her mashed potatoes were real, with a great gravy over it all.

Had the wings meal with home fries and a coffee. Five decent sized wings, breaded and fried. Potatoes fried, and a bit on the burnt side, which fine by me.

Inside and out, this place is very dated. Could definitely use a remodel (everything is old and worn). I ordered a side salad with my dinner which was literally a small bowl of lettuce with a slice of tomato on top (nothing else, no croutons, nothing), the dressing was (Italian) basically clear served in a paper cup. The fish I ordered was fine, and the mashed potatoes seemed to be just the instant stuff you can make on 90 seconds from walmart. Perhaps the breakfast is better but I wouldn’t return unfortunately.

We stopped in for breakfast after our morning run. I had a farmers omelet that was pretty good and my wife had the corned beef skillet which was just okay because it turned out to be canned corned beef. The toast was amazing though. We maybe back to try again.

Worst coffee I have ever had – tasted like colored water. Husband got the big breakfast, eggs were super salty, meats were good, and potatoes were barely cooked. I got the Western omelette, which was okay, but nothing to get excited about since they are all only 2 egg omelettes. Homemade bread was the only winner at Kortmans.

Stopped on the way south from Mackinaw. Cute little diner. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Homemade bread is a great touch. The servers were friendly, even gave us a carryout coffee when we left.
