Our experience at Shogun was disappointing and uncomfortable. During a birthday celebration, the chef threw a “raw egg yolk” directly at the birthday person after repeatedly saying no. What was meant to be entertaining came across as careless and inappropriate, and it made the situation awkward rather than fun. While the food was average, the incident overshadowed the entire experience. We expected a safe and respectful environment, especially during a celebration. After letting the manager know, all that was given was a $25 gift card that can barely cover the cost of one meal not even a hibachi dinner for 2. Unfortunately, this visit left us with a negative impression, and we will not be returning.

Shogun Bistro in Bowling Green, KY is hands-down one of the best places to eat in town. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. The hibachi is a must — generous portions, great seasoning, and the yum yum sauce is addictive. Their sushi rolls are just as impressive, beautifully made and packed with flavor.
The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, whether you’re sitting at the hibachi grill or dining at a table. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. You can tell they take pride in both the food and the service.

Ok if there was a 10 star I would give it. Not very often when we try a new place does everything come out perfect the whole dining experience was top of the line. We got sushi and it was very good then. Got the hibachi steak and shrimp it was enough food to feed us for 2 days. And if great food isn’t all you go out for like me the experience was fantastic I could not ask for a better dining experience. Hands down recommend anyone wanting a dinner and a show and be involved with the chef please go here and ask for Ricky he made it a blast from throwing eggs across the room into your mouth to just all out making jokes and whipping up some quality food.

Our dinner tonight, at Shogun bistro BG, was amazing (as always)! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We were there celebrating a couple of birthdays, and the experience made it feel extra special. What really stood out were the two cooks and our quirky waiter. Overall a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back!

Never a dull moment in this place! Our server was absolutely perfect, and the hibachi chef was pretty good. The kids loved the experience! The food was amazing. I highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Tataki.

The hibachi chef was amazing, entertaining and funny! Came here for my son’s birthday and they sang happy birthday and played drums, (twice) The food was top notch. We got wayyy more than we anticipated and it was worth every penny. 10/10 highly recommend this place.

The food was great! Yum yum sauce was good. Service was great! Atmosphere was too hot (we were not at hibachi table) but not a deal breaker. The main complaint is the 18% gratuity on tables of 6 or more. There were 6 of us but 3 couples and 3 tickets. Then when you pay, it asks for more tip. Also, four of us got appetizers and they didn’t show up until right after the meal did. Still, not a deal breaker for us (we weren’t the four that got the sushi appetizer. lol). We will be back.

Great food and friendly service.
My steak hibachi was perfectly cooked and I loved the zucchini because it wasn’t overcooked.
The pink lady roll has much less filling than I remember, but still delicious.
