We really enjoyed visiting & eating here. I met a girl at Kate spade outlet in Gaffney who recommended this place. Great food, great staff, great menu variety, home cooking & true southern hospitality. 50’s theme!

We had breakfast and it was really good! Even the eggs had a good flavor without adding salt and pepper. French toast was delicious. My boyfriend said the same about the grits, they were good without having to add anything! Def going to try the lunch and dinner menu! Before and after pics of our plates! Lol

Really cute place but the food was mediocre and the service bordered on bad.

Have tried food from here at least 5 times now ranging from breakfast to dinner. Each time the food has been terrible. We have continued to give it chances due to the slim options on food in Chesnee and each time I am more disappointed. Tonight was the final straw though I won’t be back to waste my hard earned dollar. The atmosphere is cool though I will give them that.

The food was good. They were very helpful in that day helped us order in ways that would save us money so that we got everything we wanted without paying an arm and a leg for it. Their prices are pretty good anyway. It has a fun atmosphere with all the old cars and things like that. We enjoyed it very much!

We visited Bantam Chef, 50’s Style restaurant twice during a recent stay in Mooresboro, NC. We had a late lunch one day & breakfast a few days later. The service was friendly & the food was delicious both times. Prices are very reasonable, too. Highly recommend for some cool diner vibes!

Tonight, I went and got Vegetable soup. I hate to say it.. But, it was not good The Vegetable soup was spicy, over cooked.
I did let them know I couldn’t eat the soup. The owner did refund my money.
Which I, considered good customer service!
I would suggest… people in this area LOVE Vegetable soup! It would be cost worth to fix it like southern Vegetable soup, fresh cut potatoes, etc. You would absolutely sell out!

I absolutely love the Bantam Chef!!! I may live in Illinois but I have been coming here my whole life… and I’ve been blessed to share this gem with great friends and family when we visit family here… one of my prize possessions is my kiddos over the years getting their Superman photo

I was even more impressed with their hospitality tonight after I left my purse behind. I called just after hours, but they still answered the phone… Thank You!!!!… and they even offered to wait the 30 minutes it would take for me to return for it. I am ever so grateful.

Bantam Chef in Chesnee SC will continue to have my business for years to come!!! My go to is a chili cheeseburger w/ only mayo, a side of onion rings, and a sweet tea to take it down with – Supper was great, thank you again so much!!!! ❤️

I’ve been coming to Bantam Chef since I was a child, and the way it has gone down hill is astonishing to say the least, I ordered a BLT with onion rings, add Mayo and onion, and I had a debate with the cashier for I know 5 mins about the onion, she said “ so you want a side of onion” I said “no, I just want onion on the BLT” she said “ so you want a whole onion” I said “no, just some thin sliced onion on the sandwich” she said “I’m sorry I’m confused” so as you could imagine I’m wondering how hard it is to add sliced onion to a sandwich, it must have been really complicated to comprehend. Anywho, I digress, my husband got the steak and gravy, we sit and wait on our food for approximately 20 mins, it comes out and oh my lord and the half of an onion they put on this BLT, seriously it was a half of an onion, and you can not convince me that the bacon wasn’t from that morning, or even the day before, it absolutely was not freshly cooked, and the onion rings tasted like old stale batter and COLD, either they were old, or the grease needed changed, or the batter one, it was absolutely the WORST, also, my sprite was not carbonated, that needs changing, my husbands curly fries were fresh and the steak and gravy was ok. It’s definitely not the place it used to be, if you can’t comprehend what adding onion to sandwich means I would suggest training or new employees. With how bad a simple BLT and onion rings were I would probably suggest better employees either way!

My family and myself have been eating at the Bantam Chef my whole life and I am 54 years old . So there’s gotta be something really good about this place. Mr. David Walker was the owner up until just recently. He was always in there working along side of the people who worked for him and you would have thought it was all family. They have always had great food and great service with family friendly staff… ❤️ I recommend it to everyone. If you haven’t been there, you are missing out on a real treat …
