From the first bite of your burger to your last french fry, quality is the most important ingredient at In-N-Out Burger. Since opening in 1948, we’ve been doing fresh the old-fashioned way. Our burgers are grilled to order made with juicy 100% beef patties and freshly baked buns. We only use crisp, fresh produce, our fries are hand-cut from whole potatoes, and our shakes are made from real ice cream.
Classic burger chain serving customizable burgers, hand-cut fries & shakes.

Is this the first In-N-Out i’ve reviewed? No. First on this trip? Also no. Did the double double protein style, buddy got the reg double double and fries. HUGE line, but we went inside and were served fairly quick. Across the street was an empty Carl’s Jr. The workers were looking across the street wishing they made better life choices.

Fun story… I operated a limousine company in the early 1980’s and two of my customers were In-n-out and Carl’s Jr. Coincidentally both Rich Snyder and Carl Karcher had secretaries with the same first name. I had only tried In-n-out once and loved it. I called In-n-out one day to ask Beverly (if I remember her name correctly) where the closest restaurant was to my house. (no Internet in 1983, lol) She said it was just two blocks from me. I was shocked because the restaurant she directed me to was actually a Carl’s Jr. restaurant. I had accidentally called the wrong Beverly so I thanked her and hung up. Next day I called the correct number and told Rich Snyder’s secretary, also Beverly, what I had done. We both laughed hysterically and she said that Mr. Snyder was going to get a kick out of my story. Then she directed me to their closest store on Bristol Street in Santa Ana. A couple of days later I got a special delivery package at my office. Inside was a thank you note and a bunch of gift certificates actually signed by Rich Snyder. The look on the faces of his employees when I used them was priceless! I should have save one but we used them all because we loved the food so much, like everyone does. I was so sad hearing of Mr. Snyder’s untimely death not too many years later. R.I.P. Mr S.
I’m still in Orange after all these years so I hit up In-n-out regularly either at the Outlets of Orange or Chapman Ave in Orange close to my old Alma Matre, El Modena High. I was there at Chapman Ave a few days ago and while waiting for my 3X3 splurge combo meal, no onions or spread, add mustard, I was getting my drink. A young gentleman, maybe 13 or 14 reached for a straw at the same time as me. With a huge smile and no words he slowly handed me his straw. I said thanks sir, he said you are welcome sir, then he walked off still smiling. I sat down and coincidentally he came up and sat down at the table next to me with his family, again no words, just his big smile. As they left I congratulated his parents for raising such a proper young gentleman. The father thanked me and the kid just smiled again. Classic!
Seems like all my experiences at In-n-out have been great. The only time I was disappointed was once getting fries that were a bit cold… and everybody knows their fries must be eaten hot, right? A few minutes later an employee stopped by just to ask how everything was and he asked why I hadn’t eaten the fries. I let him know what happened and within a few minutes he was back with a fresh-n-hot order. That’s the only one kinda negative experience I’ve had in over 40 years and it turned out great! They’re the best in taste, service, food quality, cleanliness, reliability, consistency and total awesomeness.
Thanks to the remaining heir of the family owned chain. You’re doing fantastic and Rich Snyder is smiling in heaven with pride. Congratulations, keep up the great work.

Horrible employee experience. Neither the order taker or cashiers know how to do their jobs. They do not know how to take an order, repeat your order or give you the correct order without repeating yourself 6 times and the order still not given when I asked for myoney back passing out TWO 19.00 GIFT CARDS IS NOT ME EATING TODAY. AND THE MANAGER MARCUS THINKS THIS IS BOW TO MAKE THE CUSTOMER HAPPY WHEN WE ARE HUNGRY IS AN INSULT I TRIED TO GOVE BACK THE GODT CARDS BECAUSE I EILL NE ER GO TO THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN

That’s what a hamburger is all about.
Best tasting burgers.
Did you know that In-N-Out have their own cows and their own potatoes so from ground to plate they own everything.
And they never have any of their meat or potatoes frozen. They don’t even own freezers.

I’ve always enjoyed In-N-Out in the past, but unfortunately this visit left me very disappointed. The issue wasn’t just that my order came out wrong — mistakes can happen anywhere — but how the situation was handled afterward.
When I pointed out the mistake, I expected a quick resolution. Instead, I ended up standing and waiting for more than 20 minutes, feeling ignored the entire time. It wasn’t until I became visibly upset that the staff even addressed it. At that point, the line cook hurriedly made the replacement, but in doing so pressed down on both the patty and the bun. The result was a dry piece of meat paired with a bun that had been squashed, over-toasted, and burnt.
By the time I finally received the corrected burger, the rest of my food had gone cold. To make matters worse, the replacement burger not only looked unappetizing but tasted like cardboard. This particular meal was meant for my son, and while he tried to eat it, he only managed half before giving up and tossing the rest — which says a lot, since he usually enjoys his meals here.
I understand mistakes happen, but what makes the difference is how quickly and properly they’re fixed. Unfortunately, this experience showed a lack of urgency, care, and attention to detail. In-N-Out usually sets the standard for quality and service, but this visit fell far short of what I’ve come to expect.

People working at 12 AM to 1 AM September 1st don’t know how to work. For an entire hour I waited for a burger because they coned off any possible exit in the drive through. None of them decided to leave their little cozy store to take care of the smallest line dreadful customer service. Then I got my food, the fries are actually dreadful. The fries had cooled off causing them to be unedible. You have one job. I’ve lived in this area for 15 years but I will be to telling all my friends and family to AVOID the in and out at Chapman.

Long wait… Longer then the normal wait, wasn’t even that busy for that long wait time. Have them remake the hamburgers which took an additional 20 minutes

If you are in a rush, do drive thru even if the line looks crazy long. They move through quickly. We made the mistake of going inside, and they go through those orders much slower. Not sure how they designate crew to which line. They have a lot of staff working the expo line, and the food is always solid. Staff is courteous and care about how their dining room is clean. I stood there for maybe 20 mins for my order and saw manager in expo that was working register to go clean the room and ask each dine-in customer how their food was. You would not see that at other fast food joints ever.
