3/22/25. Stopped at Corral around 7:30 pm. The best part of Corral tonight was the salid bar. They ran out of steak. The taco bar looked like it was not restocked with any fresh meat or shells. The restaurant was very busy but our server was on point making sure we had fresh drinks and cleared the table of empty plates. To me it just was not a good experience at this Golden Corral.

Having celiac I was cautious to eat here but there is a plaque for almost each food item that states what allergens are included. Really helped me choose wisely. Of course you have to be careful with cross contamination by diners. Pleasantly surprised.

It’s the standard buffet. Plenty of options, food is average, but unlimited. The hash browns seemed boiled instead of fried and were basically mashed potatoes. Not awful, just not anything like hash browns. Worth going based on the price and decent food.

Not much service… It’s a buffet… (Workaraunt) However, they do clear dishes from your table and bring you refills on your drinks. I rated 5 stars because I got up to get some more food from the buffet, and when I returned, the ptevious dishes were gone from the table. There was no waiting for them to get cleared.
The food is always great! Lots of variety to choose from. The salad ingredients are always fresh and not soggy or wilted, like in some other buffets I’ve been to.
I aleays get a bite of almost everything… Salad with ham, cheese, bacon bits, hard boiled eggs, fresh spinach, etc..
Then there is chicken, beef roast, ham, fish, shrimp… Just too many things to mention – and it is all delicious!
If I had to choose my favorites, I guess I would pick the sautéd mushrooms and the fried shrimp.
The atmosphere is kinda nice for s buffet. The tables are cordoned off in different “sections” with a faux fireplace seperating a couple of them.
I like going during the week to avoid long lines and waiting for a table to open up. There is also not many children running around on week nights.
The price is unbeatable! I paid almost as much for a “combo meal” at a local drive-through fast food place!
The staff is always very friendly and courteous! From the cashier when we came in, to the server that cared for us at our table, they were all great and had fantastic, pleasant attitudes. We felt like we were welcome there, not an “interruption in their day” like I get from other places.

Had an impromptu lunch at Golden Corral. Hadn’t been there in years. They are pretty far from home now but the food was as delicious as it used to be. There was a grestcaelection and tgd food was fresh and hot. It was a great afternoon!

Reason for 1 star is because ordering online is impossible. From the website, when trying to order any meal, there is a pop up when adding the meal to your cart, “choose 4 options for included items.” No way to clear the error and there are only 2 options to complete for the sides (of which were selected). Tried the phone app, it won’t login, gives an “oops” error, even after changing the PW. Then I tried Seamless, when trying to pay it says “This restaurant can’t complete orders right now.” Tried Grubhub and it was cancelled right after making the order. Tried DoorDash, and it cancelled saying they were unable to process the order with the store. If you don’t accept online ordering then say so. We will choose another restaurant. From this point on.

The location had been closed, but I didn’t know they had reopened in Alton, IL. I had only been there twice before, but I see where they’ve remodeled the restaurant. The upgrades look fresh and the carpet look new/clean and not worn. They don’t offer a big deal for Seniors when it comes to discounts. They only take off cents. The staff was very accommodating and professional. The Mac & Cheese need some help.
