Johnny provided truly exceptional service—the best I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and made spot-on recommendations that we absolutely loved. He handled our dietary adaptations and quirky questions with skill, patience, and a genuine smile.
And the food?
Out of this world. The BEST steak I’ve had in my entire life—perfectly cooked, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Ruth’s Chris delivered an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend—especially if you get Johnny as your server!

For Asheville Restaurant Week, I started at Ruth’s Chris, and it was a wonderful experience. It’s a really nice place with a great ambiance. I was expecting something very luxurious and formal, but instead, the atmosphere felt warm and elegant refined without being over the top.

Our server, Justin, was absolutely incredible. Truly top notch service, he was extremely attentive, detail oriented, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The drink menu being on an iPad was a great touch, especially with photos of the cocktails so you can see the presentation before ordering.
For drinks, I tried the Once Upon a Time in Mexico, a coconut ginger martini, and it was outstanding. The bread deserves a special mention: warm French bread with a perfectly crusty, crunchy exterior and a soft, fluffy inside—it tasted like it had just come out of the oven.
We chose the three-course meal. For the first course, I had the onion soup, which was very good, but my favorite was the lobster bisque, it was incredibly creamy and packed with flavor.
For the main course, we had the filet cooked medium rare, served with shrimp, mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp were very well seasoned absolutely perfect. The presentation of the dish was beautiful.
For dessert, I tried both the white chocolate bread pudding and the cheesecake. While the cheesecake was good, the bread pudding was outstanding and easily the highlight of the final course.
Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience, and I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Three stars isn’t a great review, but I’d like to think this was an isolated experience. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I’ll start with the positives. We were seated next to a group of women who seemed to be wrapping up a lively happy hour, and our server was accommodating and quickly moved us to a quieter booth, which we appreciated. He recommended the crab cakes, and they were excellent. They came out fast, and the ambiance in our new spot was cozy and set the stage for what we hoped would be a nice dinner.

Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. After finishing the crab cakes, it took a long time for our soup and salad to arrive, and during that stretch no one checked in or acknowledged the delay. When our steaks finally came out, both were cooked rare even though we had ordered medium. Our server caught it quickly and offered to have them cooked a bit more, but the wait was longer than expected, and we wondered if they might come back overdone. My wife’s steak returned cooked properly, but mine was still underdone. It was taken back again and came out quickly, but by then it was closer to medium-well.

For a steakhouse, this was disappointing. Another couple was seated halfway through our meal, and they left right before we did. We weren’t in a rush, but it still took 2 hours and 20 minutes from the time we sat down to when we paid.

There were bright spots in our visit, which makes us think this may have just been an off night. We’d welcome the chance to return and experience the restaurant at its best if management is open to facilitating that.

The steaks were both cooked under what we asked for, but the meat quality was good mine was a bit blacker on the outside than preferred but thats just opinion others may like it, the broccoli could have been atleast salted
The waitress was great couldnt have been better we waited 20 or so minutes after our reservation time, which we were also 15 mins early for, the hostess could barely be heard as they called for people’s tables I saw some people almost get skipped. Maybe just a text as well would be good when your table is ready especially since there wasn’t much room to wait it was very crowded.

My fiancee and I celebrated her birthday at Ruth’s Chris and the experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We requested a more intimate setting and they honored that without hesitation. That’s one of the things we love about this location and why we keep coming back.

Our waiter James, was exceptional. He was attentive without being overbearing, he made sure we had everything we needed plus more and he was genuinely personable. He added to the warmth of the evening and helped make the celebration feel special.

The food was incredible as always, perfectly prepared and worth every bite. Overall, it was a beautiful experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

The atmosphere was excellent and our waitress Cassie was the best. Unfortunately our filet was a letdown. They were cooked perfectly but really lacked flavor. Our sides of the sweet potato casserole and au gratin potatoes were fine but the steak left something to be desired. We were going to have bread pudding for dessert as it is one of our favorites but adding white chocolate was a deal breaker. I’d advise bringing back the original

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at Ruth’s Chris in Asheville and the experience was beautiful. Our waiter was amazing, warm, knowledgeable, and made us feel so taken care of. He even surprised us with a complimentary dessert that was delicious. I also had the classic Old Fashioned and it was made perfectly.

The restaurant was spotless, quiet, and the ambiance was top tier. The porterhouse for two was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor and could have used more salt. The baked potato was great.

Overall the service, drinks, and atmosphere were excellent, even if the food itself was just average.

We visited Ruth’s Chris on 2/7 at 1700. It was the perfect time to go. We were immediately seated and met our wonderful server Nicholas. He was new to serving at Ruth’s Chris but it’s evident their training works. He talked us into a Lobster Mac N Cheese that was absolutely delicious. We decided on the 3 for 60 special and Nicholas was able to answer all of our questions about the food and lead us to the best choices. I ordered the stuffed chicken and my wife ordered Salmon and shrimp. Both of those were awesome, even leaving me enough for a meal the next day. The atmosphere was great and we spoke with several managers, who made sure we were taken care of. Even down to the valet drivers, we felt appreciated and welcomed. I’m thankful for such a good visit, and encourage you to go!

What an absolutely wonderful experience! We came here to celebrate a birthday dinner, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The service was truly top-notch – everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and they went above and beyond to make us feel at home.

They were especially amazing with our little one, which made the evening even more special. The food was outstanding- perfectly cooked steaks, delicious sides, and beautifully presented dishes.

We left happy, full, and smiling. Highly recommend this place for any special occasion or simply a great night out in Asheville!

Overall, great experience. My friend and I were excited to have dinner after visiting the Biltmore. The hostess was very nice! Our server was great. The stuffed chicken and the lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. The only issue we had was that our Ribeye came out rare, cold in the middle, and we ordered medium rare. Apparently, they threw the rare steak back on the grill (unsure if that’s the standard protocol over refiring a new steak) and brought it back out. It was overcooked and all we could taste was the char from the grill. It was inedible. Not even A-1 steak sauce could save the steak. Another gentleman came out to check on the steaks and when we explained that they were now overcooked and burnt, he was, in our opinion, a bit defensive and kept stating the steak was cooked the way we ordered it. So my friend and I just smiled and thanked him. We did not eat the steak. We were comped dessert and we ordered the apple crisp cheesecake and the bread pudding. The bread pudding was sooooo good!!! Star of the night hands down. All in all, aside from the steak issue, we enjoyed our evening.
