Our server Amber was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome the entire evening. Chef Oscar also came by our table, which was such a nice personal touch and really showed how much pride he takes in his food and his guests.
We ordered the short rib with polenta, and it was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and full of flavor — easily one of the best short ribs I’ve had. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the dish was comforting yet elevated.
Truly a memorable meal. I’d absolutely come back and recommend this place to anyone visiting Denver.
They were super busy so making a reservation was crucial
Everything that we ate was so good, that I could eat that same meal over and over.
We were taken care of and checked on by multiple people even people who weren’t our server or the manager.
Could not have had a better experience!
Thank you !
The short rib with polenta was next level. Perfectly cooked, insanely tender, and packed with flavor. One of those dishes you keep thinking about after the meal is over.
Great food, great service, great vibe. Will definitely be back.
The service & food both were amazing! We tried alot of food – chicken pesto pizza was amazing, the bruschetta was flavourful and cheese ravioli bites were melting good! We ordered eggplant mains(forgot exact name) but it was really yum! So we would definitely go back to this place!
My first impression was that the sound level was overwhelming. It was one of those experiences where you practically had to yell to communicate which means everyone kicks it up a notch to be heard. Things seemed to quiet down a bit after 7:00 but overall the sound level was distracting.
The food was top shelf! We ordered appetizers, salad and an entree and everything was delicious. It didn’t really matter but we got our salads before the calamari and mussel appetizers. I’ve never had that order before. The portions were all generous though. We would have typically split both courses but each had our eyes on different offerings.
The main course decisions were tough to choose from all the great items. We ended up with eggplant parmigiana and sausage and peppers with no disappointment on our part. All of the food was a great price and value for this day and age.
Service was inconsistent. We had periods of well timed check-ins interspersed with other times when empty plates sat in front of us waiting to be removed for a long time. The seating was cozy and comfortable but I could not believe how dirty the mirror I faced was. Overall the ambience pleasantly lived up to the legend of Gaetano’s mob owned legacy.
There is a convenient parking lot across Tejon on the corner of 38th. Unfortunately it had snowed and the lot had not been plowed making it difficult to negotiate the ice and puddles.
Will we go back? Yes, however I might try to gauge timing on a smaller crowd and noise level or even pick-up for home.
