The menu has a lot to choose from. Pizza, steaks, shrimp, sandwiches and appetizers or “previews”. Most of the item names or categories were related somehow to movies too. It was kind of fun reading them.
Usually, my beautiful Bride and I split a meal, but today we couldn’t quite agree on what to split so we ordered separate meals. We did split a preview of the spinach artichoke dip. It has “house made chips” and was labeled as “creamy and cheesy”. It was as advertised. There was even a bit of baked cheese in the side of the bowl. Yes, we used a spoon to make sure there was nothing left behind!
My Bride ordered a Texas BBQ Burger topped with onion rings; it comes with a side of fries too. She told me she liked the fries first, so I had wondered about the burger. She said it was good, but overcooked for the medium she ordered. It looked closer to well, but definitely not a hockey puck. The onion rings were yummy too. She has one and gave the others to me. They were lightly breaded and not too soaked in oil. A little salt and they were yummy. The fries and rings made up for the well-done sandwich!
I ordered a “Hello Lucy” aka a Cubano. It was good. The ham overpowered the pulled pork as far as flavor, making more of a grilled ham and Swiss cheese sandwich in flavor. It was still good and I would order it again, but would try other things first. I got a side of Cole slaw and it was yummy. It was a mayo style and slightly crisp cabbage. It was worth the risk on restaurant slaw and I would definitely order again.
Yes, because we didn’t split meals, there is leftovers for lunch.
Our waitress was friendly, gave us time to look over the menu, and took our order with no rush. The only thing I wish she had done was ask if we saw the specials board when we walked in. We noticed it on the way out, and one of the shrimp specials would have been a strong contender (a “Rocky” shout out). Oh well, I guess we’ll have to go back.
All in all, this was nice experience in a hub city. People were friendly and the food was good. It was fun looking at all the movie stuff.
Service was great
Excellent place to stop for a nice dinner when traveling through
Highly recommend
Food was mediocre at best. Burgers were WELL done,so dry, bland. Appeared to be pre-formed patties, so disappointing with ranch land all around this area. Veggies as a side were frozen, bagged mix-soggy and yuck! Shrimp salad had a very fishy smell. Brisket/burger had a very tiny portion of dry brisket.
Truly a great atmosphere to hang out with the family or friends, or get a drink. Also the place is clean, bathrooms and all.
If you eat here. Get. some. dessert. That peach cheesecake is to die for. Super creamy and flavorful, but not TOO sweet you can’t eat it.
