This bbq is incredible. We were road tripping and passing by overnight in a nearby motel. Decided to get some take out to try this place out and ordered the two meat platter with burnt ends and fatty brisket. It was incredible bbq – it’s good enough you don’t need bbq sauce, the crust was wonderfully charred and smokey, very beautiful. The green beans were also fantastic. Best of all was the price – only around 21,22$ for the platter, two sides, and bread w garlic butter. It was so good that we went back two more times – once right after getting the first platter, and one last time the day after when we stayed an extra day due to a snowstorm. The ribs are also really good. I’m so happy we were able to eat such amazing bbq unplanned for.

Fire n Smoke is hands down the best BBQ in town! We’ve been coming here regularly since discovering it, and every visit has been consistently fantastic. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and top-notch. I also really appreciate that they’ve kept prices reasonable without sacrificing quality… such a rare find these days. On top of that, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Definitely a 10/10 experience, highly recommend!

One of my kid’s favorite places when we visit. I find you don’t need to commit to the BBQ here as you can order brisket on a bun rather than make a sandwich with white bread + meat. I am OK with that, but a BBQ purist may not approve. Either way I found the brisket tasty.

Moving my reviews over from Yelp. This was the ROTD in STL on 1/15/17:

What a surprising find in a veritable wasteland!

The wife and I stopped on the way to Parent’s Weekend in Ohio. I wanted something quick (but DEFINITELY not fast food) that we could enjoy. I remembered that fellow Yelper Brian M had good things to say about the place and decided to give them a shot.

The woman who was working the counter answered all of my questions about the restaurant and their food. She also recommended the two-meat combo since we were looking for something to split. She told us their two most popular meats are burnt ends and pulled pork so those were our selections. We also picked their sweet potato casserole and baked beans.

The food was so amazing that I really need to give some details on each item:

Pulled pork – Very good pulled pork. Tender, juicy, smoky and with a really flavorful bark. That said, it was completely overshadowed by the burnt ends. More on them later.

Sweet potato casserole – this sucker should have been called a dessert instead of a side dish. Nicely chopped pieces of sweet potato mixed with brown sugar and butter, spooned into a small pie tin and baked until tender. Sounds great, right? The dish certainly could have been done at that point and it would have been a success. Not so fast…they covered it with marshmallows and cooked it a little more so that the topping was that beautiful brown that we all try to achieve when making s’mores. Each bite was out of this world!

Baked beans – pretty good but there are better available at a couple of places in the STL metro area. Certainly good but overshadowed by other things we ate.

Honorable mention to their house-made bread and whipped garlic butter. The bread had a firmness not usually found in white bread that stood up really well to the rest of the meal. As hard as it is for me to write…the garlic butter actually had too much garlic in it for my taste. I am a pretty big fan of garlic, garlic butter, garlic bread, etc. so it was a huge surprise when I tried progressively less and less of their whipped butter on each bite as I searched for the right flavor. Strange, huh?

The star of the show? Most definitely it was the burnt ends. I may well have had equally good burnt ends elsewhere but I’m pretty sure I’ve never had better. I loved the amount of flavor imparted by the rub. The meat itself was fork tender and unbelievably moist. Wrap that in a bark that keeps each bite together and gives each piece all of the attributes one expects when eating barbeque. Yummy x 10 !!!

PS: There is a Taco Hell right next door that was slammed but this place was nearly deserted. Made no sense whatsoever.

Second visit, both times the burnt ends where so dry i had to attempt to gnaw the meat off the char. If the meat would have been even a tiny bit juicy it would have made all the difference. It was a jaw chore just trying to grind it down dipped in sauce to attempt in the effort. Potatoes like someone said are a novel idea but uninspired in seasoning. The green beans were utterly flavorless and had the consistency of a goopy mushy green bean cup of regret. I didn’t even bother to complain and threw away half a tray of food. I rarely post reviews on this thing and usually it is to call out excellent service and quality. But as much as people rave about this place and asked me to give it another try. I had to come give an honest review. Order taker was nice, ambience was decent. Food was unfortunately a second and last let down.

Could smell the food in the parking lot when I stepped out of my car. Was greeted warmly upon entering. The guy taking our order was patient and answered all questions related to the menu. Once our food was ordered we did not have to wait long at all. The Black Pepper Turkey, Burnt Ends and 5 cheese Mac and Cheese was on point, comes out looking like a tiny pot pie! The servings were very generous. Would highly recommend this place.

Heard good things and was excited to visit when we arrived in town! Both hubby and I are on strict low carb diets so we figured this would be a good place to get some protein! Walking through the front door we found it a little confusing as where to order and actually came in “backwards” but soon figured it out! Menu screens were nice and detailed. I was torn between turkey breast or chicken breast and the cashier assumed me chicken was the best option. I ordered the grilled chicken breast platter with two sides of green beans NO BREAD! Hubby got the 8 count wing platter with green beans and slaw NO BREAD. Our order came out promptly both WITH Bread! :(. It was amazing looking bread with a huge dollop of garlic butter on the side! I just had to fight the urge to eat it! The chicken was 3 breast portions which I found to be a lot! I found the chicken flavorless but the green beans were very good! Hubbys wings were dry and over seared but also liked the green beans and slaw! It’s a nice place to visit once but crave worthy! In our opinion absolutely not! Staff was friendly and had a good feel to the environment!

Solid choice for bbq with reasonable prices. Being in St Louis, the ribs were good. The pulled pork was pretty good too, particularly when you add the bbq sauce. The turkey picked up the smoke pretty well, and was a nice surprise. Try a little of that garlic butter on the turkey, that was awesome. Everything was above average except the brisket. It’s wasn’t bad, but it was labeled as Texas style. Having eaten brisket in Texas, I have a pretty decent idea what to hope for. Unfortunately I’ve had better Texas style in upstate NY.

All right food, everything was too sweet. Tasted like they used Russian dressing as a sauce base. They didn’t have hot sauce for the tacos. Those were covered in their sweet sauces as well. The cashier was helpful in suggesting items and everyone was helpful when I asked for things like hot sauce. Too bad the food didn’t match the service.
