This is a classic style diner with southern classics and good coffee. We went for breakfast and loved every tasty bite.
The country fried steak was cooked perfectly and had a fried crispy outside and tender meaty inside. The gravy was a nice consistency, not too thick and not too thin. Just a hint of pepper which was exactly how it should have been.
The home fried potatoes were fresh off the grill and had mixed in onions. Part crispy and part potato-ey.
The tall stack was overflowing the plate with three large and fluffy pancakes which we ordered with strawberry topping and whipped cream.
To top it off we had generous refills of coffee to make for a delicious breakfast.

We have not been here for a few years and after tonight’s meal we will have to be coming more often. The Greek Burger was excellent and cooked to perfection. My wife enjoyed her fish sandwich and my son loved his spaghetti. Definitely get the hush puppies and fries . 4/27/25 update I had the spaghetti with Italian sausage today and it was delicious .

Andrea’s is hands-down one of my favorite gems in Newport News. The food is always fresh and satisfying, but let me tell you—that Western omelet is everything! Perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and packed with ham, peppers, onions, and cheese just how I like it. You can tell they don’t cut corners in the kitchen. The vibe is cozy and welcoming, and the staff always treats you like family. Whether you’re a regular or it’s your first time, you’ll leave full, happy, and already thinking about your next plate. The Sever we had was the best one we have had since we have been coming here. Think her name was Amanda or Ashley. She had ink on her arms. Outstanding out of this world service.

It was a pretty busy Saturday, late afternoon on my visit last month. I asked waitress if it was possible to get a rare prime rib and she quickly said yes. I ordered it along with green beans. It came out eventually. The prime rib was obviously frozen and pre-cut. Tough, dry, chewy and not good at all. The green beans were straight out of a can and no seasoning was added whatsoever. Boxed up to go and my dogs thoroughly enjoyed it.

My go to place every time I return home to Newport News. Grew up on Sammy’s and Steve’s and this offers the same vibe. Hamburger Steak with cheese and fried onions with fries and Greek salad. Finish off with rice pudding!!!
