However, the service left us disappointed from the moment we arrived. We weren’t asked whether we had a reservation, and when we said we’d like to sit upstairs because the ambiance was nicer, the staff immediately dismissed us with, “It’s only for reservations.” We explained that we did have a reservation, and they sighed before taking us upstairs. We’re not sure if the rest of the service stemmed from that moment, but it certainly set the tone.
Throughout the meal, the staff weren’t rude, but they did come across as lazy and dismissive. I understand if a restaurant is busy, but even in busy places you’re usually greeted warmly, given menus at your table, and checked on within a few minutes. Instead, my partner and I waited over 20 minutes for someone to attend to us — he eventually had to go downstairs to ask for service. At times, the staff were just sitting on their phones, which didn’t help the impression.
Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but the lack of attentiveness didn’t give us the best experience. That said, the food itself was amazing, and we’re glad we got to enjoy that part of the visit.
Waitress confirmed all meat here are halal. Recommended
I went with their hummus which I enjoyed soy is served with ample pieces of sliced baguettes.
The highlight of our dining experience was being able to sit by Michele, a mixed retriever who was not ashamed to stare at you in hopes of getting a morsel. Even the wait staff enjoyed having him around.
Really good stuff!
The atmosphere is good. The place is clean. We had some starter and the main dish would be steak (as the name make us feel like that’s what they are best at). The starter is quite nice but all the main dish and the red wine are all very very bad. The test was not right. The texture and quality of the meat is not up to standard at all. It just look nice. It was the worse meal I ever had in Belgium.
I would not recommend anyone or tell anyone to go there.
I did mention this to the staff after eating part of it and asked if it could be changed, but they refused.
To be fair, the staff was very friendly and polite — but at the end of the day, I came here to eat, and the food really missed the mark. I wouldn’t come back or recommend this place based on my experience.
Mocktail passion fruit was fantastic.
Then they kind of went to dig up some potatoes for the fries I requested. But when it arrived, I realized why it took so long. It was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST POTATOES. I am so glad that they didn’t take any short cuts. Every piece was a treat. Baked, not fried. That’s why.
I would gladly recommend.
#2. The quality of meat is very poor. I have been in the meat business for 55 years all around the world. I started as a meat cutter and I’m from Texas. They tried to sell me a butchered, chewed up piece of meat as a ribeye steak when it was from a cross cut off the beef short loin. My daughter’s steak was about 50% griddle and fat and my wife’s Wagyu steak was tough and full of gristle. So not a nice memorable dinner.
#3. When we arrived there was a crying baby and the hostess set us next to that child. We asked Mary we please sit elsewhere since there was almost no one in the restaurant. The hostess said no and basically scolded us.
#4. As we left my wife told the lady taking our payment that we were not happy with the quality of the food nor the dining experience overall. So an older lady followed us out the door and down the street. She asked us into a nearby restaurant and had a lady there translate for her. Basically saying that no one ever complains and the smell is the city and not her restaurant. By this time we just wanted to leave. Enough was enough.
I suggest you think thrice before spending your money here. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area.
