We ordered takeout from here over the weekend – just some snacks for lunch while we were out and about. I only had the fried pickles and fries but they were both so good (those pickles were some of the best I’ve had in a while) and my husband really enjoyed his appetizers as well! Our server was super friendly and our food came out hot. Would definitely stop by again!

The servers and bartenders were super kind! I order a fuji salad. The only complaint I had was that the chicken seem very dry, and when I reordered it was still pretty dry. Other than that the salad and dressing were great! I also loved the mini muffins they bake daily

I will say if you plan on quiet time you may not want seating in the bar as the tv’s are loud as is the crowd. Very fun though .

We have been customers of Kalamazoo, Portage, Mattawan, and area locations for decades. We have been happy 95% of the time. No complaints….until we had dinner at the Allendale location. We honestly thought it was owned by a different parent company than the Kalamazoo area locations. Everything was so amazing!! The presentation of the food was gorgeous. Everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The server was just the best (Giani (sorry for misspelling her name)). The atmosphere is so welcoming and comfortable. The manager, Jamie, is so very nice and based on how great the staff is, I can only assume she is a great person for them to work for. The Allendale location is what every other location should be striving to mimic. Comparing this location to all of the Kalamazoo and surrounding area locations, this one was like fine dining and the others are like the (now closed/demolished) McDonald’s on Riverview in Kalamazoo. I truly hope the owners of Main Street up the standards of other locations to meet what the Allendale location is giving their customers.

We saw people of all ages at this establishment. Despite its proximity to Grand Valley. It was very busy which is always a telltale sign of good food. Two of us ordered the pot roast dinner which was excellent and the other three ordered a burger that also had pulled pork on it. There wasn’t a stitch of food left on anyone’s plate! One of our party was inquiring of the waiter as to the recipe for a particular item, and the manager even took the time to come out and talk to him about that. So an A+ on the whole experience!

Turtle Balls
I got the world famous burger from this place. Very very good. The only thing that was different than other times was the big oily stool set on top of the burger. It was a spectacular presentation, but the stool was too runny! Try again!

The ranch here is great. I love ranch, and oftentimes I rate my experience largely on how good the ranch was. Here? Amazing. Not to mention the broccoli cheese bites and the delicious seasoning on the fries.
As for the meal in general, it had pretty much every single box on my list checked off. Toothpicks through the sandwich slices, cut diagonally, a pickle on the side, the whole works. And I didn’t have to ask for ranch because the servers offered it every single time I wanted it. The servers were super nice, actually! Plus a lot faster than I was expecting.

Came here for lunch. Our server was Ethan M. He was friendly and showed great attention to detail. He refilled drinks as needed. Our food arrived hot and delicious. Ordered the Cougar Wrap with fries, it was delicious!
There are TVs mounted in bar area. Pool table here as well. Lots of seating.

Overall this place is decent, especially for how it’s styled. You can only expect so much from chains like this, their focus is mass production at cost not particularly amazing food but for what it is, it’s good. In my opinion they’re still better than some other chains in the area, namely peppinos.
The biggest reason for the 3 stars is the inconsistency with appetizer portion size. My usual here is the “pick 3 combo” where you choose a smaller portion of 3 apps to form a meal.
Now I’m fine with that concept and I understand it’ll be different than ordering that app on its own, but there in lies the problem. It’s an issue with all the apps but the biggest offender is the spicy cheese curds. Sometimes it’s the almost the same quantity as the app on its own but more often than not, it feels like they forgot it was meant to be 2 portions. Which was the case tonight as well, honestly it’s like playing Russian roulette, you never really know what to expect.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them all the same but it makes me second guess going there, especially if I haven’t eaten all day and I’m ravenously hungry, not knowing if the portion will actually be big enough really puts me off wanting to order at all.
