A transplanted Californian to AZ, whenever I’m in So Cal I m as some it a point to come to Tommyy’s. This time its been about 5 years and I was really hoping my Double Chili burger was as good as I remembered – beyond all doubt I still love these things.

You know those other burger guys that sell hot rod Tee shirts are all over AZ. What I can say they are no longer half as good as I remember growing up in the 60”s & 70”s. Sure wish you’d come to Mmesa Az

When it comes to chili anything, burgers, fries, and dogs I’m all in. That said, to me the chili here is mediocre. I would not order the chili cheese fries again. However, the flavor of the dog is so good that it made up for the underwhelming chili on top. If I come back here again I’ll just skip the chili altogether.

I stopped by this Tommy’s location finally after 4 years of working in Simi Valley. It also been over 10 years since I last ate a Tommy’s burger. This location is very close to my work office and I was in the plaza at the bank. So today was the day for me to finally try their burger again. When I came, there was no one else here so I think I was their first customer of the day. I got the double chessburger and asked for no chilis or onion. There was just 1 worker there today and he prepared my order. The inside colors remind me of In N Out because it looks so similar and this location still have the fountain machine. My burger didn’t take long to make and I ate it at the office. I thought the burger was decent, it’s not my favorite burger but it was a good lunch. I personally like their fries but it been a while since I last had it and the price is high.

It’s odd to me how many 4-5 stars there are in these reviews. I moved to Simi Valley about a year ago, and I pass Tommy’s all the time, but never tried it. I finally stopped and ordered a chili hot dog, cheese fries, and a drink. My total came to $20+.

I got home and opened the cheese fries. Cheese was cold and hard, so fries were no good. Opened the hot dog, ate half disappointed, and gave the other half to my husband, who was also disappointed. I won’t be going back. It was a waste of $20

So… I just can’t resist Tommy’s Promos! As a USC student in the early eighties, I spent many of late evenings at The Original Tommy’s on Beverly and Rampart. Their chili is to die for and is still the same after all these years. Today they had the two chili-cheeseburgers for the price of one. As always, I asked for extra chili to dip my fries in, and their excellent staff loaded them up. Fries and a ton of whole yellow peppers (are you listening In-N-Out) were more than I could handle. I appreciate how clean and they keep the place; especially with all this chili slopping around!

My visit was on 7/21/18. @2:10pm.

$9.98 for a double chilli cheeseburger with fries and a medium soda, not a bad deal. Price wise its very affordable with weekday offers. 10/10✔️

The establishment was very clean. Tables and floors are very clean as well as bathrooms. Soda area also is very clean and organized.10/10✔️

Service was excellent with the cashier showing a personality, food was cooked promptly and it looked very presentable.10/10✔️

Chilli cheeseburger tasted very bland. Meat had no flavor to it, and the chilli was also very weak. I found myself eating a lot of the peppers and ketchup to squeeze some sort of flavor other than tomatoes and pickles. My hamburger, although it look very good and it was priced accordingly, was terrible. 3/10❌

French fries were also very dissapointing, no seasoning and were not recently fried. I get it, they want to serve you fast, but my FF were cold on arrival, and same as with the burger, lacked flavor. It was like eating cardboard. 0/10❌

Overall, very dissapointing. I’ve been eating at Tommy’s since I was a kid but today’s visit reminded me why I haven’t been here in months. Bland food.
