The aisle at the entrance to the store is so narrow that it is difficult for two people to fit in.
The freshly baked snacks look very tempting.
The breakfast and coffee were nothing special, but if you are not very picky, this is a convenient and quick breakfast place.
The waitress may not want the guests to occupy the table for too long, so she clears the table even though you haven’t finished the food in your mouth.
After placing our order, our coffees arrived with no spoons. When the food came out, there were no utensils. We had to repeatedly ask for basic things like napkins and coffee refills. It felt completely disorganized and inattentive.
The food was just as underwhelming. The avocado toast was not made with fresh avocados but with a sour-tasting paste that ruined the dish. The eggs were below average, and the toasted bagel had an odd, unpleasant taste. The juices were clearly watered down, and the coffee was mediocre at best.
The only decent items were the scones – and even those were almost completely sold out except for one flavor.
Overall, poor service and below average food. Definitely not worth returning.
Owner and multiple staffers ignored me behind counter as owner was on phone discussing her credit card machine. I was left in limbo for 10 minutes , I left. I visited again today after not being able to navigate the long line at the Lord higel coffee house… hindsight, I should’ve just stayed there… I visited uppercrust and was seated… Placed my order, horrible caramel latte, then ordered quiche only to have the wrong one delivered – vegetable instead of ham & cheese. I was there for 45 minutes before receiving what I had ordered. Awful experience and so sad because it is a quaint atmosphere on the island. You are better served at croissant and Company next to Publix.
….but these used to be exceptional little masterpieces of deliciousness…
I’m try one more time. They were truly special
The service this trip was really really disappointing. The nasty looks being exchanged between the two waitresses was concerning. I was perched and ready to jump between them if a fight broke out . The hostility was palpable. I hope that got figured out.
Located in downtown Venice, in a small narrow store front.
This place has very good food, good service and pastries are soooo good.
The resturant/bakery is narrow but fairly deep and has indoor outdoor searing.
My wife and I like getting a sidewalk table and sit outside with our dogs. We order blueberry scones with Devonshire cream and coffee (just one of our favorites).
If you still have room after you eat try a slice of their coconut cake, you will thank me afterwards. Fyi, it’s a fairly large slice.
Last year I ordered a whole coconut cake for our Christmas gathering.
Enjoy!
