This restaurant has been my family’s favorite for years, which makes this experience especially disappointing.
My friend and I had traveled from California to visit family, and LongHorn was the one place everyone agreed on. We’ve eaten here many times with the same group and have never had an issue being seated. It wasn’t a holiday, and we fully expected to wait for a table—chairs are kind of famous for that.
Instead, our party of 8 was flat-out denied seating. Not “there will be a wait,” not “we’re short-staffed,” just a hard no—despite the restaurant and parking lot being visibly about half empty (see photos where we were parked in an empty back row). Apparently, the tables were on strike.
I understand staffing and capacity challenges, but refusing a loyal family without clear communication or even the option to wait was confusing and unwelcoming. Especially for a place we’ve always considered our go-to for family meals.
We ended up taking our business elsewhere. The steaks may have been spared, but LongHorn lost something more valuable: loyal customers who genuinely wanted to be there.

We arrived at 1 pm. The restaurant was moderately busy. Our server was Quay (not sure of spelling).
We waited a good while for our food. The well done steak my friend ordered was burnt, I had the lunch soup and salad, shrimp and lobster bisque was mediocre.
Quay wasn’t an attentive server but was very polite and pleasant.

Against my better judgment I agreed on eating here instead of the one in trussville. Trussville was a 5 star experience. The mac and cheese EXCELLENT, the shrimp and steak EXCELLENT so was the rice. Welp I ordered my steak medium it came out medium rare. Plate full of blood I sent it back. They brought it out well except one piece on the end was medium on the same plate with brown blood all over it. Forgot my shrimp and rice. After 20 mins brought out shrimp completely saturated in red sauce, then 15 mins later brought out rice in 3 clumps. Then after my party of 16 left finally brought out my spinach dip I ordered togo. Never got a refill of tea so asked for one to go. They took so long finally told me they ran out. Someone at Trussville please show them how it’s done. Thee only thing that was decent was salad just drenched in ranch could of used half the dressing. And my to go spinach dip was half full.

My experience @ longhorn in Gardendale. An hour wait, finally got seated I ordered the mushrooms & the shrimp & chowder soup for my appetizer. ( Really Good)! Now the Ribeye & Asparagus, was AMAZING!!! Steak needed no sauce. It was well worth the wait!! Thank You LongHorn, you did not DISAPPOINT! . And Tiffany our waitress made us feel like family!!

Me and my family went to longhorn restaurant in Garndale Alabama on sunday jan 11 2026 at 2 pm severalTable being bussed Food being wiped off the table onto the floor nobody getting the food up off the floor with the little sweepers it looks like a filthy mess Sorry manager walking around Seeing food being wipe on floor and know body getting it up seatting customers at nasty areas I mentioned it to my waitress and she said that’s not my area.its being done all over the restaurant The table should wipe in a buss tub not on the floor and they used sweepers to get anything that fell on the floor. I ask for Manager never came to table I’ll never go back to that nasty restaurant wonder what the kitchen look like.ZERO STARS

Girl that waited on us i saw her like twice
we sat down for about 25 mins before we were waited on white family that sat down after us got their food before us…. ordered wild west shrimp I think its called and Ribeye with 2 sides waited 30 mins we got our food I order my stead medium it was tough and well still ate it was hungry then when Im nearly done they bring my shrimp appetizer which I cant enjoy because im done by this point the waitress was more eager to bring the check than check on us and our food which wasnt good at all on top of that the the family that came in atleast 20 mins after us and was a family of 4 walked out when we did were waited on adequately and left in a timely manner… guess they assume I wouldnt tip because im black

Ordered 30 min ago and still no bread and no food and empty tea glass. We left. We left 3 dollars on table for tea. On the way out at the front door I told person at desk we left 3 dollars for tea. We were seated next to a large group and we had to share the same waitress.

There is no point in making a reservation, you’ll still have to wait 30+ minutes. Then don’t order the spiked lemonade, it’s just a regular lemonade with thoughts and concepts of being spiked. Won’t be back.

This longhorn is usually good when dining in. I ordered an entree salad and it was a handful of lettuce and most of it was hard pieces. I also ordered French onion soup. Please tell them to go light on the cheese. My soup was full of cheese I could barely get to the broth. I called the manager and he stated they weigh the to go salad at 3oz. $15 for a handful of lettuce is crazy business. I will not be ordering online again and I will not be getting a salads. The side salad feels like more lettuce than what I got. Really disappointed In this visit. It’ll be a minute before I come back
