3 for lunch. We sat at the bar and “Day” was our server. She was so friendly and did a wonderful job helping us. I had the fried fish with sweet potato waffle fries. The fish was perfectly cooked. Amazing! We also had the dip trio to share. It was so good! Our group ordered sushi and a wrap and everyone enjoyed their food. Thanks Day and Drake’s!

Stopped here for lunch today and decided to try the special menu items they are offering this week for Huntsville Restaurant Week. I had the Campfire Burger…pepper jack cheese, fried jalapenos, sriracha onion straws, BBQ mayo….all on a warm, buttered bun with house made chips. It was insanely good! First…it was huge….literally about 5 inches high, so I wrapped half of it to take home for later. It was moist and juicy and the combo of flavors was soooo good! I loved the crispy, crunchy chips as well. My hubby tried the Southern Comfort burger…Old Bay seasoning with pimiento cheese….but he swapped the pimiento cheese for Swiss cheese. His tasted great as well, but ws not nearly as exciting as mine! LOL. Our server was spectacular…..checked on us often, and took the time to chat about the local area. We will definitely go back to try some of their other items!

Great Layout with sectioned off bars and light ambient lighting. Wait Staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything that I ate like the Shrimp Grilled Cheese (which is an awesome combo) was very tasty and I was very impressed by all the food. Easy 5/5!

We really like the outdoor / indoor seating right along the sidewalk. It’s quiet enough to talk since you’re not outside by a busy road. The servers are friendly and the burgers are delicious. I really enjoyed the patty melt with a unique horseradish parmesan mayo!

I recently visited Drake’s in Huntsville and left feeling unsettled — not because of the food or service quality, but because of a policy issue that matters deeply to me.

While exiting the women’s restroom, I encountered a staff member who, in my understanding, is biologically male. The restaurant later confirmed in writing that their policy allows individuals to use restrooms based on gender identity.

I want to be clear: my concern is not about hostility toward any individual. It is about privacy and safety expectations. As a woman, I believe restrooms are one of the few spaces where we reasonably expect biological separation due to vulnerability and personal security. That expectation is important to me.

I reached out directly to management to ask for clarification on their policy. They responded promptly and professionally, confirming that their policy aligns with federal guidance allowing restroom use based on gender identity. I appreciate that they answered transparently.

However, this policy does not align with my personal boundaries regarding women-only spaces. Because of that, I have decided I will not be returning.

I believe businesses have the right to set policies, and customers have the right to choose where they spend their money. For me, women’s privacy and protection matter, and I will support establishments whose policies reflect that view.

So we have been wanting to try Drakes for a minute and today was the day. We went specifically to try one of their restaurant menu items for Huntsville Restaurant week. Let me just say upfront, if this review was for that item, the Campfire Burger, the rating for food would be 5. It was delicious.
It was the grilled chicken sandwich I ordered that dropped the rating. Grilled chicken is my go to at many places I eat so I can definitely rate them according to the places I have had them.
The chicken filet was so thin and overcooked, I literally had to spit it into my napkin. Our sweet server, Victoria offered to replace it. Thank you!
Problem is: it took so long that my husband had finished eating, and he is not a fast eater before my replacement arrived. While waiting, I ate a quarter of his delicious burger.
When my replacement sandwich finally showed up, we just put it in a to go container.
Wish I hadnt. Wish I had talked to a manager. This chicken breast was just as bad , or worse! Completely hammered and no seasoning. Wow!
After tasting my husband’s burger, I just wish I hadn’t even ordered. Money thrown away and my fault for just getting the same as a replacement.
Since the burger was a special for restaurant week, we will probably skip Drakes from now on.

Delicious! I came here last week for a business lunch and then again yesterday with my family visiting from out of town. Both experiences were excellent and the food was delicious. I love the vibe.

Place is pretty good. Got a very eclectic menu, but I get it, it’s got something for everyone. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and while I waited had a cold beer. Definitely would go back and try some more things. It’s not the flashiest but it gets the job done

Hadn’t been to Drakes before so decided to try it out around noon on a Saturday with my wife and two kids. Despite being pretty busy we were seated without a wait. Waitress was nice and took orders, drinks arrived pretty quickly. Ambiance was kind of a brighter sports bar but still family-friendly. Loud music and conversation but not obnoxiously so, lot of families present.

On to the food. Let’s be honest – the place is a little on the expensive side. Cup of chili for $6, salads start at $14 and go north of $18, all the burgers are $14+ with one side etc. That being said, I don’t knock of stars for higher prices, you can check the menu before you show up and go elsewhere, but I do want to point it out.

I ordered the Triple Double cheeseburger Sliders and was able to sub out the side for chili for $2, which I felt was a good deal. The burgers were well done but sliders are kinda to get anything else and they tasted good. To be fair, they didn’t ask how I wanted them so that’s just how they come. No complaints about the burgers besides the size. Chili seemed like it was made fresh and tasted really good. Scattering of beans, hamburger was diced very fine. Great flavor, not too hot or top greasy.

Wife got the chopped Chicken Salad but opted to swap out chicken for salmon. She thought there was a bit too much dressing (order it on the side). She fel the salmon was cooked a little more then she asked for but was still good — a good entree sized serving of salmon. Everything else in salad was great.

Kids got mac-n-cheese and chicken strips. The chicken strips were grilled and they were probably the best kids chicken s trips I’ve tried. My daughter thought they were one of the better ones she’d tried as well. Mac-N-Cheese was good.

$65 prior to gratuity for all that, two waters, 1 soda and a 23oz beer. Kinda high but they offered a military discount that was very generous. Came out to just over $51 after discount which I appreciated a lot.

As long as you are OK paying for quality good, you won’t be disappointed — food here is great and service is good too.

This was not our first visit to Drakes but it was our first time to have Victoria as our server. She was exceptional and knew the menu in such detail, especially the sushi, that we wanted to order everything she recommended! She was extraordinarily kind and we will come back just to see her. The food was fantastic! We had sushi with steak and the queso burger plus appetizers and carrot cake.
