The star of the meal for me was the cheesy garlic bread — crispy underneath, soft inside, and full of flavor. Truly the kind of comfort food you don’t forget easily. Our server, Jordan, made the experience even better. He was polite, attentive, and handled everything with genuine care. One of our dishes, the French onion soup, wasn’t quite right, and he took it off the check without any fuss.
Overall, this place has great food, amazing service, and a welcoming feel. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend stopping in for a meal — you’ll leave happy and satisfied!
Now, in 2026, this is the only remaining location for miles, and I’m afraid that they may be struggling. I remember waiting for twenty minutes or more just to get a table at Uno’s in the 90s, but I have never seen this one get anywhere near full. The closure and abandonment of the AMC theater behind them can’t have helped business. Their rent has to be very reasonable.
Last week my takeout order came packed in a generic pizza box inside of a generic brown bag. It was depressing to see this. For decades their logo would have been printed on every box, bag, and napkin they distributed. The pizza skins were adequate, but quality has declined noticeably from what it was in the 90s and even from what it was in the early 2000s.
On the visit before that I ordered the Chicago Classic, which was…barely edible. The (now-defunct) Metuchen and South Plainfield locations used to make it so much better. It’s a shame because I know of no other restaurant serving Chicago-style deep dish in New Jersey. My guess is that Uno corporate has been cutting corners in their supply chain to keep costs down and that the drop in quality is not the fault of this specific owner. IMO, the menu has much gotten too large and unfocused. It seems to be chasing demand for recent fads (i.e., Detroit-style pizza), which I think is a mistake. It would be more wise to cut offerings by half and concentrate on improving quality.
I commend the owner of this location for keeping it going when so many others have closed, but wonder how long it can last without significant changes.
The atmosphere can be improved, but the food and service made up for it.
Even though it’s advertised as a pizzeria, there menu is varied and they also offer healthier options, with less grease and more veggies.
What’s fun about the place is that they have a great neighborhood sports vibe. They offer all sorts of craft beers on tap as well as have TVs all over the place with different types of sports games playing.
The staff work hard and are very accommodating to any requests.
I highly recommend them! Especially for families with small children.
Great food, atmosphere and staff! Request Gabby! She’s the best!
